    Hello Fellow Tacoma Owners

So here is my deal and I'm sure if I dug deep into these forums I'd find similar information, but I thought I would post my experience first hand and get some feedback or suggestions.

    Back Story:
I have a 2018 Tacoma with just over 16,000 miles on it. I purchased it in July of 2018 as a Dealer Demo with 7,000 miles on it and it's not my DD. Primarily used for some around town stuff and getting A to B before hitting trails for daytrips and longer stays.

A week after I purchased the truck I changed out my tires to BFG KO2s (265/75R16) and ran them for about a year. During that time I had taken the truck in to have some sensor issue resolved from a TBS that was put out by Tacoma on gearing. This problem was solved with no shifting issues.

Noted Upgrades, which have added weight to the truck since buying it stock:
    Snugtop Rebel Shell
C4 FAB front full guard bumper and rear low profile bumper
    WARN Winch VR-10S
Front Runner Slimline II rack on the shell
    Front Runner Awning
Additional spare tire that matches the Fuel Anza wheel and BFG KO2 285 tire

Most recent I've upgraded my tires to BFG KO2s (285/70R17), new Fuel Anza 17" wheels and a 2" lift (Changed out to Bilstein Shocks and rebuilt my leaf springs (adding a leaf). Since the modifications, I'm noticing a tremendous change in how the vehicle shifts gears or attempts to shift gears.

    Changes Noticed Since Changing Tires/Wheels:
Slower acceleration when getting onto freeways, lane changes and acceleration in general. I seem to have to really give it more gas to accelerate and the RPMs jump to almost 4 with a high revving sound before kicking into a higher gear.

Going up a grade is weak and I'm not towing anything. If I want to break 65MPH I have to push it to the floor to really give it some gas, the RPMs jump to almost 5 before it changes gears OR I have to pop it into manual and shift myself.

Overall the truck feels less smooth when driving on the highway, or speeds over 50MPH, and seems like I'm unable to maintain a speed of over 70MPH without the truck wanting to rev to a higher RPM and find a gear. Not sure if I explained that correctly. Not as noticeable when on city streets.

My truck has been modified from stock condition with added weight, so I get that, but it drove a lot smoother with less of these issues when I had the 265 tires and 16" wheels.

Not expecting a truck to perform like a car, but it did not have these issues before changing the tires/wheels.

OH, and two different Toyota dealers have said everything is within factory specs and they find nothing wrong with the truck. They are going to do a flash reset of the transmission and see if it will "learn" my driving pattern with the new tires and wheels.

Okay....GO with your thoughts, tips and suggestions because I'm about to go on a 3,200 mile road trip and I DO NOT want to have these issues...Unless it just is what it is.

Sorry for the long post and thanks for any feedback you give.
