Next new engine will likely either be a hybrid or electric.

I dont see a reason for Toyota to chase Nissan's business model.

More HP is never a bad thing though

This post is dumb. A hybrid Taco would likely make significantly more power, beyond the much better mileage.

IMO the engine doesn't need a bump in peak numbers as bad as it needs more meat under the curve. As much as this forum wants to hate on turbos motors this is where they really shine.

The hp wars will soon be upon us as they came to the SUV's and pony cars before us. Soon we will be driving around in 700hp midsized trucks, that are now the size of fullsized trucks, which have grown to the size of big rigs. My 18 cupholders are full of things and my waistline has also increased 8 sizes, but it's okay because they new Raptaco comes standard with 37's, a 4 inch lift and seating for 8 with a bed that's still only 6ft because who needs to whole crap when you can haul ass

I personally would love to see engines come back from the peak hp wars and actually provide low end power. This 3.5L does not do this, nobody drives an off-road vehicle at 4k rpms Toyota. This new Nissan engine, while numbers sound good, it isn't going to make people want to buy the last model year Nissan unless it has a huge advantage over the competition. It will not.

My post is dumb but you bought a truck because mileage is a big selling point for you?

“New 3.8” I smell a re use of the 3.8 VR, just NA and tuned and reliably. Think, if you thought OV was doing well with the 2GR and TT, if the block, pistons, heads, rods, etc are the same as the VR, Nissan has a Godzilla truck waiting to happen.

    Two dumb posts. Impressive.

Mileage absolutely matters. That doesn't mean that is why I bought the truck. If one can have more power and better mileage, I don't think many would pass that up.

Why would you assume that? Hybrid prius, hybrid camry, hybrid suvs. None of them are making "significantly more power."

What is this post? There is no non-hybrid Prius to compare. And look no further than the new Rav4.
