I've spent some time sifting through some of the threads on here and have yet to find anything on upgrading rear ends.

Currently as my truck sits (in terms of suspension), it has a total chaos +3.5" front kit. I've been accumulating parts for the rear suspension, right now I have the new DMZ SUA kit along with bypasses and hydraulic bump stops.

Now that y'all have some background info, my question is what is the best route to go for upgrading the rear end. I've done some research on the camburg drop in tacoma axle and the currie enterprises f9, from my understanding they are both based off the Ford 9" rear end. I was curious if anyone has built there own Ford 9" rear end for a similar application. If so, how have you modified it to fit the tacoma?

I think some people have swapped for a tundra axel on their 2nd gen, it really shouldn’t be much different on a 3rd gen

Junkyard 9” housing, Currie axles cut to fit OEM wheels, Craigslist find Detroit locked and geared at 4.63, garage trussed and linked. Then I sold my elocker rear end and the center section that came with the junkyard housing, overall paid less than $250 to swap to a Ford 9"
