Upgraded studs for TRD/Magnuson Supercharger tensioner

The group buy closes with this post, however with the feedback from others that they'd rather see the final design before deciding to join, I'll gladly accept additional confirmed buyers after they see this post. Besides, the more buyers the better. This week I will start asking for PayPal payments from those buyers who are confirmed.

First picture: the test fit and final dimensions of the design have been determined. These are 5.1" long, with 1.5" of threads on the nut end, and 0.78" of threads on the hole end (note this 0.78" is an exact field-fit dimension and was fully test-fit to be about 0.040 before bottom-out).

Not bottoming out will allow the unthreaded portion of the shank to sit flush and allow the solid shank to take most of the cyclic forces so the threads won't have to. Picture for comparison to the stock stud.

Next picture shows a 2.5mm slot in one end for safe threading.

Last couple of pictures show the studs and how they will sit flush with the holes.

In the interest of time, would someone here who is also on those forums volunteer to make a quick promotional post there??

 

Would mostly apply to fj since they never released a kit for 4runners.

 

wouldn’t it be limited to the earlier single VVTI FJ/T4R? Not sure if the dual-VVTI Maggy is designed the same.

 

These studs would only be applicable to single vvti 1gr's. I'm positive dual vvti 1gr has different timing cover so mounting would be different.

 

I posted on the the superchargers owners thread on the FJ forums but didn't see any response. All I can think of is @DocME who has one but surprised he hasn't been around here!

@Athlaos I'm 99.99% now certain that everything can fit in a flat rate box. So domestic US orders (regardless of # of sets) is $11.80.

Basically, I'll receive one big order from Leigh. And then I'll send it out (from CA) individually via usps.
