Hello all, I finally moved up to a 4x4 vehicle, traded in my 2009 Pre-Runner and bought a 2011 TRD Offroad Double Cab. Was down in the San Antonio area and they gave me a deal on my truck so I went for it. I bought the Pre-Runner for $24,000 two years ago and they gave me 20,000 when I traded it. Here are a couple of pics...

I got it in black as that is the color I like most. Took these pics before the taking off the badges and the uneven TRD stickers that were placed on the truck.

Only thing for now is I really need the bluetooth feature. I have an OEM unit that has SAT radio which I think is built in and maybe will allow me to use the Blu Logic option.

The OEM roof rack and running boards will be options that will get on there but further down the road.

I let the dealer know I wanted to keep my Firestone Destination AT (LT) tires so I will be heading back down to San Antonio next weekend to have them swapped.

Hopefully I can learn the capabilities of this truck and have some fun!

It may be a regional option. Added by the regional distributor.

Congrats on the new truck. I would love to upgrade from my 2005 to a 2011. Just don't want the truck payments.

Congrats... but that's a big no on running boards... after the mud flaps they will be the first thing to get busted or bashed and fall off when you take the OFF ROAD... Off the road! Sliders will serve you as steps if there are little people needing help and keep rocks from messing with your body.

OOOOO maybe I can do without the running boards and flaps then, thanks for the input :)

And yea, I did not want the payments either but was already paying on one, may as well get the one I want and be done.

Now to update my avatar, etc :)

    Bone Stock.....for now.
Nice looking truck man! Pretty much a twin to mine except for the 4wd. I think the Bluetooth is part of the JBL upgrade on the TRD OR package. Regardless, you should find a way to add it...it's really nice.

I think they did give me a good deal on the trade too, for the Dodge Ram I traded towards my Pre-Runner they only gave me 16,500 and it was only about a year old or less, with 8000 miles on it. My Pre-Runner had 18,500 miles and was about two years old. I got money back from the trade to put towards the new one.

    Crazy :)

The Bluetooth is part of the JBL upgrade. The drawback to adding it later is that you can not add the buttons to your steering wheel, which sucks, I really wanted them.

Sounds like you worked yourself a good deal! Beautiful truck. I agree that you should leave the running boards out of the situation. Get some sliders with steps if you need the assistance. Those OEM roof rails look sick on the 2nd Gen DC Tacomas. Congrats!

Congrats on the new truck and 4x4....

For those using this as a basis for shopping, Many are suggesting it was good deal.........What did I miss? We have no idea what kind of deal it was! All we know is the dealer "showed" $20K for his trade.. Don't know what the new truck cost plus those pesky dealer fees which must beadded to the selling price before TL

Does it make sense for a dealer to pay $20K ACV for an 09 when a brand new 2011 Prerunner V6 MSRP is $23,500 and can be bought for around $23K after fees?

Something is a miss with the numbers. They will have to add $2000 to the "price paid" and who would buy a 2 year old truck for the same cost as new plus used car interest?

Just for the benefit of people who are shopping, when people put up deal details they should enter all the information so we have a good idea what trucks are selling for and Actual Cash Value paid for our trades.
