The 698 by itself is more than sufficient enough on its own. I would probably remove the factory cooler to keep the system more simple. But the factory cooler could be kept in the system for even more additional cooling capacity.

The 698 stand alone has more cooling capacity than the factory cooler and has the added benefit of the thermal bypass for cold weather.

    Looks like a winner.
I’m looking into a swap.My tranny runs about 10-15 degrees cooler (170-180ish)than my water temp (193) but goes up to 205ish fairly easy.
Would like to get about 25 degrees cooler.

Up pass the battery, toward the firewall, there’s unused screw holes there and the horns work perfectly.

I used and installed the Tru-Cool LPD 4589 back in 2020. Its been great, when I installed it, I flushed the stock WS fluid out and changed completely to Valvoline Max-Life and added 10oz of Lubegard Platinum as a preventative measure and recommendation from gearcruncher
Overall I recommend it, as I’ve been happy with it. I’ve been doing pan drops and strainer filter swaps ever since. I don’t have the transmission temps in front of me but I’ll try to find them.

I just installed a HAYDEN 696 on my 2wd. I don't tow or even really use the bed that much but I'm seeing a 20-30 degree drop in transmission temps. Main reason for installing was just to bypass the factory cooler in the radiator as I prefer the systems to be independent of each other.
