A mid height bed rack in combination with a Decked drawer system. I really wanted a Smart Cap but I cheaped out and got a bed rack instead. It really limits what and how much stuff I can throw back there. It's love/hate relationship with the Decked too. Yeah I can stay super organized and frequently used gear is easily accessible, but it's heavy and a lot of wasted space. The redesign looks pretty sweet and there's a lot less wasted space now but I don't to drop $1600 lol

Are you thinking of third gens? I put on an aftermarket cai anyways and had to put the stock intake back on to get smogged (ca laws and whatnot ) but it really didn’t make any difference in performance

Hah I didn’t even realize that. Saw a few other second gen’s posting and the topic seems pretty universal.

Sweet, I'm looking forward to installing them. I regularly load up about 200-250 lbs in the bed. I plan on going with option 2.

    And after remembering some more..
Catback/aftermarket muffler (annoying and has no benefit)
Oem roof rack (it’s loud when opened up, made of plastic, and can’t hold much weight at all)

Not really an upgrade but my biggest regret was feeling like I needed to stuff every possible tool and recovery item into the truck somewhere right when I got it

Ended up forgetting what I had anyway

    recommend being concise here

Hood swap. My truck looks like a SR5 now, with the TRD Sport stickers taken off the bed. Don't regret removing the stickers though. Looks better. Originally did the swap because it was hard to see over the front of the hood pulling into the garage. Added a front camera later and that solved that issue.

I suppose that's true too. But I drive in super-dusty conditions and don't really have issues here. Change yer filter every so often and should be fine...

Interesting feedback about the 9500es. I would think with the built in DSP it would improve the factory sound some. I opted for kicker key amps 200.4/500.1 and keeping the factory non jbl radio. Along with second skin damplifier pro 2mm on the inner doors, Focal RSE-165 fronts, RCX-165 rears and JL Stealthbox the sound stage is actually pretty phenomenal.

I'm planning on replacing the head unit soon with the Sony 9500es or Pioneer 6600nex, but can't decide.

I recently installed this option, along with 5150 (I think that's what they were called, extended length 5100) and 6112 Bilstein. I must have had some significant droop because I ended up seeing ~2.25" up front (6112 were ordered at the 1.7" option, 8 & 10 if iirc) and 3.25" in the rear. Was not expecting that but aside from chasing some squeaks and rattles, the truck rides excellent now. I will say it's rather firm with "no" load in the back, I do have a decked drawer so there is 200lb back there at all times; rides very comfortable with 4 adults and some stuff in the back now.

May want to find yourself replacement hardware for the leaf springs, the last one (front, drivers side) took me forever to get out, ended up cutting it and having to replace the following day when I could find a replacement.

See I love the decked drawer, I do have the single drawer model which is sweet. True I lost the height of the bed but for the most part it isn't an issue, I also have the softopper. The tonneau I have makes the top of the deck nearly useless. During baseball season the drawer makes it so that I never have to unload the folding chairs and wagon; have dry storage for a handful of tools and first aid that just stays in the truck, etc. The system is definitely not cheap and not for everyone but I enjoy it. The new toolboxes that come with it are sweet too, though I would never have bought them separately. Very sturdy (and heavy as shit tbh)

Had a 2010 SR5 long bed, nice truck! 98 Silverado awesome truck. Old trusty 1988 Ford Ranger, I beat the hell out of it and it wouldn't die. Think I'm do for another real truck F150 with a coyote, a local dealer is offering a supercharger kit with 100,000 mile powertrain warranty, 800 HP. Yeah a gas hog, but you get actual power.

Sorry I got your panties in a twist. The 3rd gen is kinda a turd.
