I'm thinking about upgrading my front 6x9 door speakers on my 2014 DC. I don't want anything crazy that required an extra amp, just simple plug n play. The guy at a local shop recommended Arc Audio's xdi572 speakers. Can anyone say anything good or bad about this brand? Growing up with Alpine, Kickers, MTX, and JBL; I had just never heard of this brand before.

Edit: Here are some product specs: http://www.arcaudio.com/p/xdi-572?pp=24

Just like you, I'm biased towards alpine, kickers, and JBL

Brand gets good reviews; way too low of a sensitivity rating to work off stock HU.

These speakers want 40w RMS each. Im not sure that the factory head unit pushes that many watts. Honestly if you want an upgrade to your speakers then an amplified speaker is the best way.

Right now you have the best speakers Toyota wanted to make for the factory system. The built them around the head unit and optimized them for the output. You can get "better" sound from different speakers but in my personal opinion you need an amp to make a difference in the sound.

But this is your truck, and sound is all personal preference. Do whatever will make you happy, because its your money, and its your truck!

Alpine power pack wired into the factory headunit (easy to do without any cutting, just buy aftermarket harness and a factory side harness) 45w x 4 @2 or 4 ohm. slap in whatever speakers you want. and you will be jammin!

But i've had experience with ARC before, great stuff, i do like their amps but its spendy

What this guy said... that would work. They are small and are easy to install.
