I have done some research and have a couple questions I am hoping to get clarification on.

I am planning to upgrade my stock 2014 Pre-Runner tires to an AT 265/75r16. A few options I am looking at are Hankook Dynapro ATM FR10, Cooper AT/3 or ATP’s.

My only goal is to have a more aggressive looking tire that performs well on highway (no off-road/mud)…low noise, minimal drop in MPG and smooth ride.

Will switching from stock to an AT tire like above result in more noise and not as smooth of a ride as I currently have with stock?

    Thanks!

Both the Dynapro ATMs and Cooper ATP/AT3s are good mild tires... I doubt you would notice a very big difference at all in noise, maybe slightly stiffer ride, but it should be minimal. Especially if you get the P metrics as opposed to the LT tires. They're both good options, though I think the Dynapros will get more votes around here.

I've had the Cooper ATP's 265/75 16's for about 25k now and am very pleased. Very slight increase in road noise. Good all around performance for my type of driving. Sounds like you and I had similar goals in mind when changing tires. I would purchase them again.

Had Hankook Dynapro's for 6 months/6k miles +/- and had consistent problems with them, after 8 or 9 trips to the tire shop and 2 replacement tires that didn't fix anything I went with Cooper ATPs. No issues now.

I bought the Hankook because everybody loves them, in dealing with them myself and several other tire shops weighing in, they all shared the same feelings - they're entry level tires and poor quality. This goes against the ownership reports you'll find online, but in my case, they were awful. I loved them, really loved them.. if you go that route, I'd consider getting an LT C load rating rather than the P Metric Hankook like I had. They were the worst tire I've ever ran.

That said, lots of people run them in P and have no problems. Wish that was true for me! I do love the Cooper's though, they're a bit quieter (not much), I just had them installed Friday so we'll see how they do.

I have the AT3s great tires, they do everything good that's why I got them, hwy, rain, snow, sand, mud, dirt and towing..... I have the 275 70 17 on stock wheels and they rub a little on the inside...

Appreciate all the input. Looks like I am going to pull the trigger soon...thinking AT/3s as they seem aggressive, yet less aggressive of the 3 which I hope results in a less noticeable performance difference on highway.

Just ordered some SR8 wheels as well...should be a nice look.

I have the atp tires and they are nice and quiet on the highway, but I do have the P 245 75 16.

Going one size larger will help them look more aggressive compared to what you're coming from. I think you will be very happy with the way they look on your truck.

I have the Cooper AT3s on our 06 4Runner and they are very smooth running and quiet.
