I’ve got a 2006 Tacoma with JBL and my stock subwoofer just took a crap and want to replace it. I want to use the OEM sub enclosure but I will be adding a different aftermarket amp. My question is does any one know what speaker harness I would be needing to connect the new subwoofer to the OEM box? Also I’m keeping the stock stereo.

What speaker did you end up with, and how went the install? My rear panel subwoofer just tore up. Crutchfield has Kicker 48CWRT82 as the most affordable speaker at $136, or $110 for a returned item. I was hoping for a cheaper option. They show Metra 72-9300 to wire into the oem connectors.

I ended up removing the subwoofer and will not replace it. The tunes sound good enough to me without a subwoofer. It was a PIA to access. Had to remove the rear seat backrests, then snap out the rear panels.
