My 2015 TRD Off Road Tacoma (Access Cab) has the stock Toyota Entune Audio system (the type labeled 510079). I'd like to upgrade to a Toyota OEM NAV unit of the same generation as the unit I now have installed. But I am hoping to find one that will (hopefully) just drop in without extensive rewiring. Can anyone tell me which Entune NAV unit will install easiest in my Taco?

    Thanks, in advance!

If you have non JBL you will need a non JBL nav unit from a 4runner or Tacoma I don't remember the faceplate numbers but they are plug and play, I did the same upgrade to mine.
I'll have to look what number mine is tomorrow, if you want to use the Entune app you will have to find a VIN for a truck that was factory equipped (I poked around on some salvage sites and found 1)

    Two questions:
    1. How can I tell a JBL vs non-JBL unit? (mine doesn't have JBL written anywhere on it.)
    2. What functionality does the Entune app bring to the unit?

Toyota NAV stinks. And updates are not free.

If you want NAV in dash, go with aftermarket that will mirror your phone.

If it doesn't have JBL stamped on it then it's not JBL.

The app runs on your phone and allows the apps on the radio to work and recieve updates.
