What's up TW. I fairly new here, and I don't post much, but just thought I'd share my audio build coming soon.

    Parts ordered:

    Front Speakers - Focal K2 Power 165KRX2

    Rear Speakers - Focal RCX-165

Subs - 2 JL Audio 10" TW1-4 (The slim ones)

    Amp - JL Audio XD1000/5v2 (5 channel)

Sound deadening - Dynamat Xtreme Mega pack (72 sq feet)

All these were picked with the assistance of a Crutchfield expert to fit a double cab Tacoma.

Hope the arrive soon, excited to have some awesome tunes on our road trips.

Should be a nice setup. Focals are great. Have not had subs in a while but used to have JL W6's back in the day. I was thinking of getting some of the slim ones as well. Curious to see how it turns out.

Just unboxed it. Much to come.
Good stuff. Get the stinger bulk pack sound deadening. Half the money. Same stuff. Rest looks top end.

Should sound great. I used to sell high end car audio and JL and Focal were always two of the most popular brands.

Nice choices. I have the Focal KRX3 3-way setup from another car that I am going to start installing soon. Also I will be going full active with 2 six channel Focal amps and a JL 13TW5

Are you able to run all of that off the factory head unit? Or are you upgrading there as well? (sorry if thats a noob question)

I'm running a setup pretty close to this:

    - Focal K2P's 6.5 on a JL HD600/4 bridged for 300w per front ch
    - JL 13TW5-2 ohm on a 500/1
    - Dynamat everywhere but i still need more
    - other stuff.

it's a solid setup. your sub will sound good and require less for installation.
my box was made by @Mr Marv and required a bit of work to get in to my '17. i have way more on tap than i can use until i kill more resonance... you may have an easier time with this. i also need a cap to keep this clean when i turn it up so there's another consideration.

anyway i think if you're sound quality focused and you are the main listener, then drop the rear door speakers and just use the K2P's up front. your soundstage and dimension will be much cleaner. I'm surprised how well the K2P's and 13TW5 work together for the soundstage, and i would want to preserve that for sure. it's one of the just things about my setup.

That sounds good. I'm gonna run with what I have, cuz I tend to have a lot of company with me wherever I go.
