Trial and error are the greatest teachers. be patient and go slow, if you think its an adventure in snow and ice on an incline now, just wait until you realized you have burnt up the clutch from slipping it ( or feathering it ) as you say. The next big adventure will be the cost of replacing it, and maby the Flywheel. Stay off the Clutch !!
    and Good Luck!!

Don't know in snow. That's why I'm curious if you've tried it. In theory it prevents individual wheel slippage via computer monitoring, like CRAWL control. You just need to keep applying gas and it does the rest. It's cool on dirt. Might be worth experimenting.

I live where it snows multiple feet at a time. This time last winter we had over 4 feet on the ground. It snowed about 6 feet in 2 weeks time. I have not had to burn up my clutch LOL wtf dont slip your clutch this is not a dirtbike.

the first thing to try IMO is a single click of VSC Off to activate Auto LSD On. that is a first level low speed traction solution for the rear wheels only. super simple. if you need more you have more options but this is the first and most simple solution to try.

Will give it a try today, we don't get much snow at Ft Campbell so only limited opportunities to play around when it snows.

ATRAC does work in the snow, I have used it on 1 section of rural road that is very steep and had people getting stuck on. That was in my old 2015 though but i doubt it would make much difference.

Yeah no crawl control. All I drive are manuals but not even going to pretend I know how to drive them good off-road, that would be a lie. Guess it's just getting out there more and experimenting; there's so many options to toy with (4 high/low, ATRAC, diff locker, traction control, and then that damn clutch!

You need to build up momentum and get them tires spinnin which is gonna involve 2 or maybe even third gear. Ain' no other way

Unless you get chains. Then you can do a slow speed crawl right out!

All I can say is don't slide/slip the clutch! Keep your foot off the left pedal. I would try out the A-trac and the rear locker to see how that helps.

Also in some cases running it in a higher gear can help, because you do not want the tires to break traction. In the higher gear the engine will be more likely lug and slow down instead of breaking loose and spinning. You want to maintain momentum without spinning your tires.

Whether that means 4 low 1st or high range second or anything in between is all a function of what your conditions are like. -- but you do need to run in low to engage the rear locker unless modified.

Without seeing the road it is impossible to say what gear. Generally low range is bad though, you need momentum. I'd suggest using the highest gear that you can get up the hill in without downshifting in dry conditions. Shift into that gear, build momentum before getting on the incline, stay off the clutch. The engine rpm's should remain exactly the same all the way to the top.

I sure got to smell clutch this Xmas breaking tral to get into where my snow cat was parked. If I’m chewing in deep snow I needed 4 low or all I could smell was clutch and these clutches stink. Reverse was exceptionally bad. At one point I had a 2 place sled trailer with 2 sleds on it and going up the logging road I needed 4 low also for the switch backs. Plowed road with 4” of fresh snow on it. I have great studded winter tires and 4lo in 3rd was the answer.
