Guys any suggestions on upholstery protection of the seats in a new Tacoma? Or any like or any dislikes on any of the clear door edge protectors or any other protection for the paint after market?

The ceramic coating shop that did my tacoma used something like scotchgard on my interior which really doesn't do anything for tears. I needed to go further with some carhartt seat covers. That imo, is real protection.

The cushion will probably wear out before the fabric does . If u want some protection u can go with some seat covers or like others said scotch guard . Me personally I would go with seat covers protection against rips and stains .

I agree with scotchgaurd. Protectors for door edges I purchased I (in my case black) a rubbery u shaped protector. It has worked great for years on door chips when you accidentally open the door and hit something

I don't usually care for pound-on door edge guards, but my 2020 came with them from the factory. I have to say they've been really good. They still look like new and don't seem to trap any dirt (that I can tell).
I've used the clear 1/2" 3m door edge guard material in the past and it is okay, but I can tell you the OEM guards provide a lot more protection for a hard strike.

I ran the truck for 3.5 years with no protection against the three filthy wet dogs on camping trips. A few hours with a Bissell and a shop vac would defeat any mess. I got tired of doing that after every camping trip so I installed seat covers. With the covers a full interior detail takes about 30-45 minutes, and my 2018 truck looks brand new.

Covers and floor liners will keep the interior clean despite being used like a truck.

Door edge protectors - don't bother with those unless you plan on replacing them annually. They will yellow as they age, and after about 2-3 years they will start to do more damage than they shield against. I don't bother with the exterior. I just do a good polish and wax once in a while. To be fair my truck is covered in a number of dings, chips and scrapes that one doesn't notice until they're on it with a magnifying glass, but oddly none of them are around the door edge or handle. They're mostly on the bumpers, bed, and hood.

Seat covers, especially if you travel with a pet. There are some really nice covers discussed on here, search the threads and you'll see some that look like OE seats.
The OE color match door edge guards have worked excellent for me. Mine came factory but you can order as an accessory. Use a rubber mallet to install them.

Search Amazon vehicle door edge guards. There are a bunch of choices. I ordered enough for my Toyama and wife’s crv both black and has worked well on each

I ordered OEM edge guards as well as sill protectors during a Toyota Parts online sale for @ 40% off what the dealer wanted. Easy to install, no fading and they still look new 2 years later
