Watch for torn boots on those UBJs & LBJs especially in a deep mud/high water environment such as I routinely operate in. The factory grease washes out VERY quickly once the boot tears or even leaks. My TACO stays coated with thick mud for 8-9 months of the year. By the time I noticed the UBJ boots were torn/leaking, the factory grease had washed out & both OEM UBJs were worn to the verge of failure (below). I started using a marine EP grease on both the UBJs and the LBJs so the grease will not wash out nearly as fast when the boot leaks/tears. AFAIK, Toyota does not offer a LBJ boot kit, just the boot kit for the UBJs. But on multiple occasions, I have successfully fixed small holes in LBJ boots with Permatex Ultra Black. Just degrease the boot around the puncture then apply the Ultra Black. Ultra Black repairs on the 555 greaseable LBJ boots lasted several years. The boots on the 555 greaseable LBJs were not nearly as thick/durable as the boots on the OEM Toyota LBJs. For that reason and others, I went back with OEM Toyota LBJs on my '97 TACO 4X4 just last month. .02

I have not heard of a reboot kit for the LBJs.

How is your polyurethane ball joint dust boot holding up? I'm rebuiding my suspension with poly bushings and want to upgrade to what you did, instead of using the Toyota rubber dust boots!!! Excellent idea and it looked stronger than factory. I'd like to do the UCA, LCA and the outer tie rod boots. Thanks in advance!

You should quote the person you’re talking to. Then you’ll probably get a better response. Although this thread started in 2018.
    Good luck

I'd like to do the UCA, LCA and the outer tie rod boots. If you have part numbers please share and thanks again for posting photos.

I wish I could help you out but I ended up selling my Tacoma back in 2019 after 17 years of ownership and 272k miles. I really wish I still had it, but at the time I needed a bigger truck and didn’t have the room. I still see my old Tacoma driving around occasionally and I will re-buy it in the future! I have now moved to a bronco/f150 and have to say it is freaking awesome!
