Hey guys I just replaced upper ball joints and the snap ring doesn't look like it's set all the way in but how could it come out with it pressed in from the bottom and bolted down from the top is it just an extra safety feature has anybody had this problem it's like the recess for the snap ring isn't thick enough for the aftermarket snap ring any ideas ?? Or opinions I know my pic sucks but it's already installed.... hope I don't have to take it apart again...

Look for a gap on the bottom side (between the ball joint and the arm) indicating it isn't seated all the way. Mine had the same issue, it wasn't seated evenly, and just needed more "persuasion" to seat completely. Once it is seated completely, the snap ring will be correct. I was going to leave mine as it was, but it seemed like the consequences of failure if it pulled free were to big a risk.

If ya think about it though whats the worst that could happen the top castle nut is what keeps it from coming out.... but I guess if it's in there it must be a reason...
