Looks like it might have been tightened too much then over the years just gave way.

The wear marks don't seem right to me. Was the misalignment spacer on there? Looks like it may be missing. I bent that same bolt twice before I put on limit straps. At full droop the UCA uniball was binding placing sheer forces on the bolt. F-911 bolts are a little stronger, but not cheap.

REALLY lucky, I had just got off the fwy, less than a mile away.

It looks like it. I already replaced it. Just need to get new tie rod.

You can definitely see wear marks on the area where it broke. Did you check out the other side? It is likely in the same condition. I am glad you were not hurt if it broke on the highway that would have been a mess.

I think it just looks like that since the tire is leaning on it with the whole weight of that side of the truck on it.

I will replace it this week, I don't daily drive my truck so I don't have to worry about it breaking I guess.
Yeah it's fine, just got some rubber marks.

I wouldn't let a few dollars stand between feeling safe or an unspeakable accident at highway speeds. If it was mine it wouldnt go back on without at least Grade 8 bolts on both sides.

I'm glad your o.k. Oscar, that could have been bad. I would use it as a lesson learned and upgrade the hardness of those bolts.
