Upper control arm bolt broke today

to much of, going hard in the paint.

 

I did put a grade 8 bolt, I was told to get some aviation grade ones ($30 a piece) we'll see.

What?

 

Taking corners fast on the road ??

 

Its hard to tell from the photos, but are there uniball cup marks on the misalignments (bottom and or top misalignments)? Just seesm like this would have contributed to the problem. If so you should get new ones made up and speced out correctly.

Yes those are marks from the bottom of uniball cup, I guess uca dropping too much

i would double check n see if you are maxing out the uniball joints flex. This could of been REAL bad.

 

Do you jump stuff in your truck? Hard not to laugh at the name of the uca's after reading this.

 

I think I am, the misalignment spacer looks like is has been hit a lot by the uniball bucket.

limiting straps might be in your future.

 

I just called the truck shop (built right uca). I guess I'll have to pay almost $40 for each spacer.

 

Time for some Inconel bolts.
