For the record, I ended up installing the 48632-35080 bushings and they worked for my 2002 TRD Tacoma Xtracab.

Glad you got it sorted out. I’m not new to owning a Toyota vehicle; but I’m new to owning a 1st Gen [2000] Tacoma. It just flipped 182K miles on the odometer; and I had to have all kinds of front end work done on it — essentially a total rebuild of everything that typically wears out on these 1st Gens as they start crushin’ 200K. It started with poppin’ ball joints. From there, I had the power steering rack replaced. And most recently, I too was needing upper control arm bushings.

My mechanic had a devil of a time trying to find them through his suppliers; and when some were finally shipped to him, they were the wrong part. He did have the foresight to go ahead & order the whole shebang — complete control arms with bushings; and I rolled with that, as it really didn’t entail a great deal of extra cost.

However, he did install aftermarket Moog control arms & bushings (claiming they are “top of the line”). And, in my typical Monday morning quarterbacking, I came to the forum to see what others had to say about Moog — and, by & large, the reviews aren’t exactly favorable … [certainly not in comparison to OEM].

I sure hope I didn’t screw the pooch by going with the aftermarket parts … but I guess time will tell the tale. *shrug* I certainly plan on remaining a member of this forum until I drive the wheels off my Taco — so I’ll be sure to provide an update when the Moog bushings wear out. -lol-

I’m replying here (with your post being at the top of the thread) just in case others are also facing UCA bushing replacement, so they may weigh their decision-making over what parts to get accordingly. Naturally, OEM parts are more expensive — but, in the long run, had I known what I know now, I would have gone with OEM equipment. If the Moog bushings wear out in three years (as some forum members have reported), I’m gonna’ be slightly pissed.

Make sure you remove the outside metal sleeve for the LCAs. BUT!!! Make sure you leave in the metal sleeve for the UCAs. Don't do what I did! The OEM upper bushings were $177 shipped. (And the part number of the part I have coming, 48632-35080, doesn't even match my truck on paper.)

Bumping this thread as I'm in search of UCA bushings for a 2001 double cab pre runner. Timmy and everything I read states 48632-35080 but in searching on the Toyota parts page, it reverts it to 48632-35070. I can't even find the 80 part on the Toyota parts site. Do you folks think these are the same part and the just the number has changed. I can get the 80 part a little cheaper from other vendors.

Am also looking at these AC Delco UCA bushings that state they will fit on base models but not my 2wd pre runner. Finny as the factory bushings seem to be the same for both models. AC Delco part# 45G8085
