What's up guys. I just installed a 3 inch lift on my taco. It is the front strut spacers on top then the block and U Bolt in rear. So now the control arm and upper ball joint is hitting my coil spring barley. I got the bilstein 5100 all around on oem springs. Is there a way that I could cut the end of the ball joint spindle to make it not hit ? Any suggestions at all because right now it's noisy and a rough ride.

upload_2021-3-15_22-33-56.jpg You can see where the spindle is hitting the coil spring. Y’all think I could cut some of it so it clears ?

That UCA has a severe angle.

Huge spacer + Bilstein 5100s set for max lift?

Three inch or more require after market UCA. Rough ride is due to using blocks and spacers IMO. Not to be a a$$, get a real lift. More $$ but worth it.

I would definitely say you are going to need aftermarket upper control arms, as you have exceeded stock UCA.

Looks like maybe he wanted the JBA look on the cheap..? ‍♂️

I would NOT cut your spindle. Material loss would likely weaken it. Replace your UCAs and then realign at minimum. But I concur, a real lift is ideal.

    You painted your shock shaft?!

    :frusty:.

Reminds me of the kids in college that wanted to paint their bikes but they didn't bother to remove the chain or even the wheels.

That was my next question. Are those pics at full droop or ride height....

I mean it's bad either way, but one is considerably worse.

    Woah. Lots going on here.

Ok yes you definitely need UCA’s if that pic is with wheels on the ground.

+1 on no spacers with 5100s. Nope, no good.

All you need are the shocks and springs for lift. If you don’thave $ for UCA’s, lower the ride height by adjusting the front coils down.
