I was rubbing before the lift with 265 75 r16s, so maybe I should get some anyway. I'm doing the rear end today. Once I have it completely on it's own weight I'll torque everything down again and take it down the street to get aligned and see where that puts me.

Ah okay, I see now. If you rubbed before, yeah you may want spacers.

Those 3rd/2nd gen wheels look great, but I dont advise 1st genners to use them because of this exact issue. Its why I ditched mine and went back to a more friendly offset.

If the tires do not contact at normal operating heights, take er' in for a proper alignment. The shop will see that and adjust accordingly while getting you in the green on the alignment. Those SPC arms have quite a few different adjustments to be considered unlike other arms/brands. OEM wheels don't leave a whole lot of back spacing room for larger off-road tires. Hub centric wheel spacers may be needed.

Put them on a wish list and they'll drop the price 5% about a week later. Also by them one at a time so the coupon applies to both sets. Got mine for less than $70 shipped.

Just picked up some of these to compare to some spidertraxx. Have you had any issue running with these spacers?

If you are running lets say , as close as you could 1/4 inch or so. You air down, wouldnt the sidewall then potentially contact ?

Bingo! Mine are near as close as OP. Aired down, they do rub - not so much the wheel/tire won't roll. Data: 285/75R16 BFG A/T, stock 2002 Tacoma aluminum rims, OE control arms, 2-1/2" sway-a-way front struts

Check out this thread below. Check to see if you have longer lug bolts on the rear compared to the front.

For my 1999 Prerunner, it took 1" Bora on the front and 1.25" Spidertrax on the rear to get it right. It made for .25" wider stance in the rear. Once I replaced the ProComp wheels that required spacers with some Methods, I no longer needed the spacers. Also, I was having problems with the truck wandering on the road at high speed. I removed the spacers and that took care of that problem. It did handle nicely on curvy roads. But on the interstate, it got old fast. So I think I struck the right balance between handling and straight out driving with the right wheels.

I might try the spacers again just for kicks later in the winter. My only disappointment in this deal was in talking to Bora about the lug bolt length difference. I was told that "we've sold a pallet load of Tacoma spacers" and never had any issues with lug stud length differences. It turns out that other members have reported this difference. I felt like I was being "blown off" about the lug stud length difference. Also, buying a fairly common product with a 3-week order fulfillment turnaround time is just not with the times. So I learned yet another lesson.

This is a known issue for some Tacomas. When I talked to @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc about the difference while purchasing a different product, they were interested and listened.

You can see the pictures of the differences in this thread.

The only time I really experience any serious rubbing is when I turn the wheel to the right while reversing. There is some light rubbing at full lock on either side. But it's not bad. I have see marks on the UCAs though where the tires have rubbed them.
