Ya think it might just be all about "................AND BIGGER TIRES............"......

A heavy tire, especially an out-of-balance "big tire" will beat the snot out of wheel bearings.

I've got a truck in my garage right now that I'm doing a brake job on for a friend. It has 2" wheel spacers on it, along with wheels that have about 1-1/2" more offset than OEM. This truck has well over 200,000 miles, all but maybe 1000 of them with the spacers. Tires/wheels are lighter than what came stock on this truck. It's never had any service done to the wheel bearings and it's as tight as the day it left the factory.
