    stuff and things
I ordered some side steps for my taco from CarID (Go Rhino Dominator D2) about a week ago. Shipped everything just fine and I was getting the usual UPS tracking updates. Tuesday rolls around, the expected ship date - so I go home during lunch to see if they came. I get home and see some other packages delivered by Amazon but no steps. I didn't really think anything of it, and thought they might come later on that day. 6pm rolls around, I get home and still no steps. I logged back onto UPS to see my status changed from in transit to unavailable. I then called UPS told them the story and now they are investigating as a 'lost package' and are trying to find their location. I am sort of at a loss as to how a 57LB package is seemingly lost?

I haven't gotten any updates and just thought I would post here to see if anyone who ordered something large ever had this happen to them?

Probably put on the wrong truck. Might get sorted out in a day or two.

57 lbs and 5 ft long boxes aren't really much, when you ship boxes of all sizes and weight all day, every day.

Doesn't matter that they're lost, it only matters that they're found. Good luck! UPS has been great to me, and been shitty for others, so here's hoping they get delivered to you in short order.

more thank likely put on the bottom of the pile and the driver couldn't get to them during the first delivery and was planning on coming back but shift ended before he could. wait for tomorrow. normally they wont file a lost package claim until its two days past the expected delivery day.

It happens. I had some part of my scs rims order go missing and had to file a claim. They ended up tracking them down across the US later on. The order just got spereated. Everything eventually sorted out though.

Happens all the time. Driver gets lazy, marks as delivered but then delivers the next day.

I had UPS "misplace" 6 tires a couple months back. They got put in the wrong area of the warehouse and no one could find them for about 6 hours.

I ended up talking directly to the warehouse and they managed to get it straightened out and they showed up the next day.

I live in a small town and cane home to my bed frame being delivered.

Went to put the frame together and opened the box and couldn't figure out why I had these huge chrome bars. Looked at the label and ups dropped off someone else's side steps. The box was about the same size as my bed frame.

Drove over to the person's house and caught him walking out. Told him I had his steps but they wouldn't fit in my car. All was well again.

Tldr: someone stole your side steps. Jk

Don't worry, I'm sure they will turn up sooner or later.

I prefer to use Fed-Ex because they usually do not just leave packages on your porch if no one is home. This means you might have to drive down to the nearest Fed-Ex store to pick up your package, but that's better than having some thief steal a package that UPS just dropped off without even checking to see if anyone is home.

Had UPS "deliver" a package without ever stopping by when I was working in the front yard. Tried to get it straightened out. During the "investigation" driver even stated that he probably delivered it to the wrong address since he didnt see anyone and put it on the chair on the front porch, we dont have a chair on the front porch. UPS still refused to correct it and said they weren't liable.
Thankfully, the vendor corrected it themselves and started putting signature required on all UPS shipments. We installed a surveillance system. Since then, UPS has delivered/tried to deliver multiple packages that belonged to other people. But, they haven't messed up like that on any of mine again.
As for OPs parts, they'll probably be there tomorrow.

BS Fedex just left my camping table on my door step today and my wife was home. Didn't even ring the bell or knock. 36 lb box.

They lost 2 separate packages of wheels and tires weighing 65# each when I shipped 5 rims and tires before. Insurance from them is great though.

We used to ship sliders through FedEx. We shipped 5 sets with them at various times. They lost 3 sets of them. They are 80" long and weighed 150 lbs. We eventually found one set at a facility in Indiana. They were just leaning against a wall in the back of the sorting facility. Our best guess was that someone didn't feel like going to get a hand truck to move them, so they just left them where ever they could...for 4 weeks until we called looking for them.

This is why we can't ship sliders to your door step, 60% of the time they don't make it there.
