That's true, every year is getting busier at my center. UPS is beggining to do Saturday deliveries in some cities too.

Meh, once it is marked delivered, and it isn't, that package is in the wind. Better hope the driver has a good set of morals because at that point that is the only motivation he would have to actually bring the package to you... After all, it was already delivered, right?

Long time pkg delivery driver here.A very small % of pkgs don't arrive at the destination on time.Think about how many thousands of pkgs go thru our systems each day. There are going to be screw ups at every job folks.

MILLIONS of packages are delivered by UPS every day. There will be accidents inevitably.

We have people call in every day claiming we didn't knock on door or ring bell even though we put a door tag on the door.Customers will flat out lie to get a reimbursement for shipping charges.

So what are we saying here if I order a package like some Nerf bars and they don't show up , And driver marks them as delivered , I'm out of luck ? That's it ! no repercussions for anything? Who should I call ? who's responsible ? Would my credit card stand behind me?
this is the first I've heard of this nightmare scenario

I hope that wasn't the take away from my posts I was just defending the guy who bitched out the driver for pulling that.

No not especially it's a theme throughout this thread. Even the vendors say they're scared to ship , that's scary

As far as I can tell that was only one vendor (me) commenting on shipping service. But in all seriousness, shipping is the worst part of our business. It's a constant headache no matter who we use.

Well does anybody have an answer to any of my questions, what happens if the package doesn't show up and the driver marked as delivered? What's the next step

You didn't get the item in just about any case with a reputable vendor or shipping company you wouldn't be responsible.

I think the point was shit does happen. Whether it be a lazy employee or a simple mistake. These things get corrected, maybe not in the time frame you would like but it would be corrected.

I don't know. But if you file a dispute with your card credit company they will reverse the payment. Which really sucks for the vendor since its not really their fault but they are the ones that will get shafted.

Not sure how it is for any other area, but 95% of the time UPS delivers it's after I'm home from work. FedEx filters by at all times of the day, leaving items on the porch ripe for the picking.

Also, it seems the UPS drivers attempt to hide the package from casual view (I have pillars behind which are a good place to put things), and FedEx leaves it right in front of the door for all to see.

We're trained to leave packages out of site from street view. Not all drivers do this though.

I always ask the people where they want their larger packages and at least help them with it. If they are not home I would treat it as if it were my package, out of sight out of mind.

Don't worry because you were in a thread about lost packages yours will be fine. Kinda like when you buy a dashcam poof! No more accidents.
