I’m trying to find the correct part number for a denso or Toyota upstream air/fuel sensor. The dealership couldn’t find the correct number for the sensor and the densor website doesn’t show a sensor remotely resembling the one I pulled out. The one I pulled out does not have any markings that are legible. I have no idea if the old owner swapped in a cheap brand sensor or if the one I just pulled is correct and just not available anymore or if another part will work in it’s place? I have a California car if that makes a difference.

RockAuto says the same sensor fits the Upstream and DownstreamIMG_0223.jpg

Rockauto is wrong. I’m not an expert but some used the same o2 sensor front and back and some used an air/fuel sensor front and o2 sensor back. Mine is the latter and the dealership does not have a part number of the correct air/fuel sensor or any idea if swapping the o2 sensor for the air/fuel sensor will work or if it would require a new ecu also and if that is California compliant.

Update-The dealers said I needed a part that they cant get and denso website said the part doesnt exist and I read most trucks use the same 02 sensors front and back so that's what I tried. I just put a 2nd o2 sensor in and figured worst case is I needed a different ecu from the junkyard to make everything play nice for CA smog and check engine lights. It has been over a week and it works perfect with the same denso o2 sensor front and back despite the dealer saying otherwise via my vin number.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Glad it worked in your case.

I know my 2000 3.4 takes the Air Fuel sensor for my California Emissions engine.

    I just replaced it.
