I might be interested in that, it's gonna be in the body shop for a while, i got wrecked into Sunday.

I'm 99% sure it's a vacuum leak though because I checked my ltft% and stft% and the ltft is high until I get past 2.5k rpm, I'm gonna replace some vacuum hose, I think that's the culprit but I'm not seeing it with the carb cleaner test

If you want an intake that improves HP you want the URD TCAI. I would get a new vacuum line and call it a life. The URD intake is the only intake, other than stock, that gives you real world gain in HP and MPG. It sucks in cold air from outside the engine bay and not the hot engine bay air that other intakes do. If you do want to go back to stock I did find my OEM intake I had to hunt around in my garage but I did find the complete stock system.

OK, i got some more details and think im headed in the right direction. i found that my 2012 tacoma DOES have a MAF calibrator in it. i think the dealership might have messed with the tuning when they where trying to diagnose the "bogging" issue.

maybe the old owner added the exhaust or something after installing the MAF calibrator, im not sure, but something is causing the LTFT to run high, around +28%.

anyone have any suggestions other than the obvious that it needs a tune?

You need to call gadget at urd. He will take care of you if you have the maf calibrator and what needs to be done. If its been messed with somehow by the dealer than you will need to load a new tune from gadget

I had some issues with my MAF Cali, but it was due to some bad solders on my MAF extension. It read extremely high at certain times on the LTFT and set the code. Finally got my solders right and has been solid since. You have the URD made extension though.

My suggestion is to take the extension off and measure the resistance first (easiest) to ensure that the cables are still good. If not that, I would be checking the MAF connection to the MAF Cali. It sounds to me like the MAF signal is getting crapped on somehow, and I wouldn't think its the Cali tune personally. Also doubt the dealership had any method (software / cables) to reprogram the Cali.

Yeah after doing some more research I agree, I'm going to buy a multi meter today and test the connections

Which air filter are you using. I have found with mine that it is very sensitive to filter type and how far on the filter is attached. 1/4" to far and it will throw a code. Other than some issues in heavy rain I have not had any problems with mine going on 200k mi.

I spoke with gadget and he said it's more than likely a wiring issue, since I'm also getting the p0102 every once in a while I'm pretty sure it's the maf extension harness, I just bought a multi meter and I'm gonna check the continuity on all the connections and see if I can't find the issue there

I pulled out the maf cal to eliminate that and I'm still having issues, gonna smoke test the intake manifold today to see if I missed anything...I'm beginning to think the Mag sensor went bad. I'm getting reading on it, but they are low, like .8g/s. I checked the maf extension harness and it's good. Only 2 things left with all these conditions is a vacuum leak I missed or the MAF went bad on me

everything passed the smoke test. the build of the machine was actually super cheap and easy too. I might do a thread on that, but for now im still trying to figure out this issue

im beginning to think i missed a fused that might have gone bad or something. Im not getting the lean code anymore but i am getting a p0112 code for MAF temp low input. so im thinking its a bad MAF. when i get my taco back from the body shop i might try and see if someone in the area can meet up with me and let me test out another MAF sensor to see if thats the issue.

Certainly sounds like a bad maf. Have you pulled it out and looked at it. There is the metal thing that has the gob of glue on it. There is also a small,I think, temp sensor down inside the square part that is hard to see. Mine got wet to many times and had green corrosion on it so I replaced it. Not to expensive. I had an early tcai so had to splice my own wires so I have no experience with the extender cable.

Just wanted to touch base and let everyone know what the deal was.

I started messing with some of the connections going to the ecu and it ended up fixing the issue. Looks like it was bad solder joints done by whomever installed the maf calibrator. Thanks for all the help fellas!
