    got my maf calibrator re-mapped...had issues connecting to the ecu..

    talked with gadget and he pointed me in the right direction..

    issue was with my usb>serial...on a quick search in google, brought me to a tech writeup done by split second and they mentioned that these usb>serial connections have drivers that need to be installed...well i looked in the box and sure enough, a driver cd, a mini cd, but it had what i needed..

    just plugged in and connected just fine once i found my Com port (mine went to Com 8)..opened my fuel map and wrote to the ECU...hopefully that did it

    if you want to double check, hook it up again, and hit "read data from ECU". If its the same as the map that you put on there, then you're all good

    i'd connect to ECU, then open fuel maps and the "read data..." is in that screen?

    URD is having a 15% off sale today, and they still have the MAF Sensor Calibrator for the v6 Tacomas @ $210. But the harness is $299! I'd think the sensor is the brain and function and where the engineer's skill went in, the harness is just to make installation dummy-proof.

    Curious why the harness, which is just a bunch of wires, is $100 more than the sensor itself. Was about to pull the trigger, but $510 is a lot.

    I didnt hear this, but the o2 sensor, in theory, should override everything. Correct? If so, how soon?

    Today, the MAF "calibrator" is a dinosaur, you're much better off actually tuning the ECU and benefit from the full engine calibration as well as improving the transmission tuning.
