Looking at purchasing a TCAI from URD. Do I REALLY need to purchase the MAF Sensor Calibrator or is this just an add on? I don't want to cause any potential issues with my stock MAF.
I am also a little hesitant on manipulating any fuel tables or maps that are stock on my Tacoma.

Just an add on. Suppose to help with performance.

I really like the URD design of their TCAI versus a K&N not to mention URD is cheaper...

Don't get a k&n. Usually I would say that a cai is just a waste of money. But the urd one is about the only one that shows any improvement over stock. It's nothing to brag about but its something.

Better fit/finish...... No cutting sheet metal, no chance of rain hitting maf element leading to stumbling, and for some of us, no blocking of heat exchanger

Are you referring to the URD TCAI? I read in the product description a small piece of sheet metal is to be cut to run the CAI behind the grill

yup..... U get a template. It's not hard, but in the end not worth it either IMHO. U won't see any cooler temps than stock past 35/40 mph.

Required, no, desirable, yes. I installed both a few years ago. Ran just the cai for about six months before I installed the maf cali. With the cali, you should feel a little kick when you get to 3-4k and open loop operation. I like mine and they're staying, and I have a habit of removing anything that I don't think is doing anything.

But you do need to cut some sheet metal for the cai, but at least now the maf extension is included and no wire cutting and soldering is required. For me the soldering of the maf wiring was the biggest PITA.

Afe is another brand of air intake. The age stag 2 and the urd one is about the only one people around here will recommend, for good reason.

Difference between the Pro 5 R and Pro Dry S for the AFE application? Which should I get? Will either purchase the AFE or URD....URD is slightly cheaper
