Ah! Makes sense. I’ve had mixed results with different exhaust setups on street cars but tubing diameter was definitely a factor. Is anybody on here running widebands and tuning their own trucks?

    Build thread coming soon.
If I remember correctly that would be with the individual header tubes. But from the collectors back larger diameter pipe within reason works better. The previous pulse helps scavenge the next. That is why we ran crossover headers on the late models we raced. By combining header tubes from opposite heads you could increase the scavenge effect. The reason being was the firing and exhaust were timed closer to each other in a crossover configuration.

Anymore feedback on the URD MK2 y pipe, or others? I'm seriously looking to do this for the clearance but don't want a cel problem to deal with.

I had the URD Y pipe, and i don't think it was built with gaining clearance in mind. The driver side pipe goes right under the transmission pan, and sits lower that everything else under my truck when I had it.

I now have aFe's ypipe which is a much cleaner install.

    Thanks for the info.

No check engine light on my end.

For the URD, I had a CEL when I first installed them. I then used copper anti-seize for the O2 sensors and no more CEL for the 2 years I owned it.

I am looking at making this purchase soon…
Anyone have issues with drone from the y pipe itself? I will likely run it with an oem catback

Installed this last month. It replaced the AFE y pipe with hi-flow cats I had for the last two years.
Sole purpose for going with the URD was to get rid of the low hanging dip in the stock routing, which the AFE followed.
I kept the same catback, the AFE rock basher.
No noticeable drone more or less than the AFE. I haven't had a stock configuration in years so I can't attest to any sound. It's deeper, but smooth, louder than some, but modestly.

The URD sits a little close to the transmission pan which is not really an issue, but because overkill is fun I wrapped that portion of the URD pipe with titanium exhaust wrap to keep exhaust heat from the pan.

Only possible drawback to the URD pipe is that any transmission issue involving removing the pan will be a little bit more of a hassle.

Had to modify my RCI skid plate to accomodate the URD. @ClassyTacos on YouTube highlights this easy fix in his install video.

If you're already a high mileage truck and haven't yet, maybe go ahead and do a transmission filter change prior to install? I did not (truck at 112K) but some might want to do this.

Truck profile looks so much cleaner without that weird looking dip the stock y pipe configuration takes. Definitely and obviously helps a bit with mid-body clearance.

And I am pretty pleased at the unexpected gain in the mpg's. Nothing crazy, but absolutely noticeable.
I was very surprised at this as no other exhaust system has had that effect and I've had quite a few configurations.

So yeah, big fan of the URD y pipe all around.

THIS looks like a great pipe and I can see the benefit, now for the $10,000 question, how do you think this will pass state insp & doesn't this have down stream o2 sensors in the oem pipe ??? Im all ears

Truck registered in Texas so not an issue for me but for those states with stringent emissions tests (CA,CO, etc), an issue is certainly possible.

Go with equal length. You won’t regret it
