you surprised me with that response... yeah the VW VR6 motor was my last motor, the 3.2L in a R32, and it was fantastic in 20 ways including the sound. but yeah it's not the typical V6 design.

can't comment on the extractor pipes but with the TRD exhaust and the OV Tune on the MT (the most important bit) it is ok. the sound is tolerable and very necessary for guiding the MT shifting duties.

The 24V made decent power and sounded pretty good, but none of them quite compete with the metal manifold'd 12V.

I got pulled over once driving in traffic at the speed limit by a HB cop. He did the usual asked if i knew why he pulled me over (at the time i was working for magnaflow). i said no. He said it was because of my illegal exhaust. I told him who i work for yadda yadda and it complies with the law. He said he could hear my high pitch raspy exhaust all the way behind me.

I asked him if i could start the car for him. he let me. we both agreed that whatever honda he heard wasnt me and let me be on my way.

With a little bit of fine tuning and the exhaust replaced this should cure my problems. If not it soon becomes a Tundra almost did last week after my trip to the dealer.
Really hate to put out $5+ for a exhaust. Got to do what I have to do.
I really like the Tundra 5.7 almost as well as my Cummins.
I need to tow no matter what I am in
When I get it all put together I'll take pics.for now 1 step at a time.

Yeah it's more like 2 inline 3s sandwiched together than a V motor.

I was thinking of Nissan and I looked at your profile. The VQ exhaust notes are amazing as long as it doesn't have the raspy issue. I think I'm just a ricer at heart.

@Artsvhuerger -- specifically what power enhancers did you install?
Perhaps I'm dense, but I'm having trouble following exactly what was installed, if there are benefits and/or problems, and whether the hardware is still installed. Thanks in advance for clarifying.

You removed your catalytic converters and didn't address the O2 sensors via simulators or de-foulers, any company saying that a product is for "offroad use only" means that it bypasses the truck's emissions system and will cause a Check Engine Light

He’s talking about the urd power exctractors. It’s really frustrating that urd made them without a solution for the check engine light. We all hope that @OVTune will be able to take a look at it in 2018.

I'm definitely a fan of a properly set up VQ but there's no denying the ones with cheap ebay exhausts sound bad. I personally have a motordyne shockwave tdx v2 with ART pipes on my Z and love it.

Well I checked before I bought URD asked if check lights would come no mention.
When check engine comes on cruse traction control and a few other stop as well .
    I took them off until there's a fix .
URD should not market w/o a check fix

Thats just not true. Yes, it says "offroad use only" because it modifies the emmissions control devices of the vehicle which is technically, by the letter of the law, illegal today. However, that does NOT mean you will automatically get a CEL as I have been driving around for over a year with my rear cats removed and have not had a CEL since I swapped out my last exhaust setup for the URD spec-U

Removing rear cats won't set off the CEL. But removing the front ones will trip the O2 sensor. That being said URD makes an O2 simulator that would bypass the O2 sensor and keep it from throwing a code. It worked on my 4.0L with the Doug Thorley long tube headers. No word if they work for the extractor pipes or if they are working on something similar.

This is correct, I had not even looked at the OPs signature because he posted in the Turd Gen section. URD makes what you need to fix the CEL on the 4.0. URD only makes headers for the 4.0 so not sure what is going on here now. @Artsvhuerger did you talk to URD at all about this?

Just use an unfouler on the secondary o2 sensor(s). Then the secondary 02 sensor won’t read a large enough change to throw the CEL

This is common for aftermarket exhausts that bypass the cat.
