just installed, all forward 6 gears work awesome, a SIGNIFICANT throw improvement and feel. HOWEVER, i now have a grinding when i engage reverse (after i let off the clutch and give it some throttle) that feels like and sounds like it is coming from directly below the shifter assembly. Its a low growl or grinding and reverse DOES work....but i am scared i may be doing damage? I called URD already, but my call was cutoff before i was able to get a remedy and i was unable to get them back again. Anyone have experience with this?

im putting mine in later today. I have heard of that problem and have heard that the little sleave/ball isnt seated all the way onto the shifter. Try like a google search or searching here. I know i read it somewhere.

EDIT: Just read on TN that its going to be tough to get it in when you first install it, but after some time it becomes a lot easier. Some refer to it as a "slap shot" getting it in reverse. But you shouldnt worry about it.

    Sorry my cell phone died.

After I got a charge on it I called him back.

On very few trucks the raised shifter tower makes contact with the floor of the vehicle. The fix for this is to take some pliers and slightly bend the edge of the opening in the floor up just a little bit to prevent the bolt head of the shifter tower from contacting the floor. Easy fix and that was this guys problem when I called him back.

Yes, thank you for the help. I actually used some tin snips and cut out a small piece of the sheet metal around the area the bolt was touching on the floor. Bending it up didn't work for me because it didn't allow the shift boot surround to sit back where it was supposed to. All works fine now though! Thanks again!

Just got done putting mine in. Very simple install. The hardest part was getting that bushing of the shifter ball. Took like 5 min but i got her off. It is a very good improvement over stock and im very pleased with it. Test drove around and shifting was amazing. I started to giggle like a little school girl. :)

I hear ya on the plastic thingy. Toughest part for me and my pencil pushing thumbs. I ended up using a crescent wrench adjust the wrench just wider then the ball and pryed it off beautifully with no damage.

    Lots baby!

This is my tip for getting the tip bushing off.

This is a paint can opener. They give this away free when you buy paint at Loew's or Home Depot.

Do you or anyone have a picture of the area that needs to be bent up slightly? I want to install correctly the first time. Thank you.
