I never hear the truck go wide open throttle. I wonder if it would sound like a ricer at WOT.

Absolutely. It's a Budbuilt traction bar link:
    http://budbuilt.com/16-Tacoma-Traction-Bar-84-diff-_p_346.html

Just so you know the weld on option is overall better. I originally ordered a bolt on version, but had to wait months for the correct sized bracket because the 16s have 3 different differential options, some have leftover 8.4" 15 diffs, some have the 8.7" new diff, and some have the E-locker. The weld on option does not need this bracket so it is easier to produce, as well as being MUCH stronger when installed, and cheaper.

Yeah ill definitely get one soon. This morning pulling out of my neighborhood while it was raining I went full on sideways pulling out onto the main road :burnrubber: lol the best of all is launching though. Before I honestly felt like my truck was going to die when I launched it. It would make all sorts of odd noises that my S2K never made during launches. Apparently all those noises are related to the leaf springs hopping up and down, and now that the traction bar locks them in place in their travel its much easier to put power down. I honestly havent tried to do a true, full on burnout, but I've spun tires plenty of times launching from stoplights and stuff. Oh yeah it REALLY helps if you drive a 6MT I MAY have forgotten to add that bit

Excellent product. Do you get any additional noise because of the system? My torque armed Mustang used to send some vibrations and noise in. The torque are was still worth it.

One thing I did notice is when you REALLY mash it in first, you can hear and feel a small rumbling vibration from it. It's really not that noticable and you really have to push it to ever get it. I would think on a Taco with more power it might be more of a problem, like if you had a S/C'd 2G or a V8 swapped truck then maybe, but with stock power its nearly seamless, just that little noise and rumble only in first when you really mash it

Ok, that helps to explain things a bit. Your vehicle description under your avatar didn't specify MT, and I guess you really meant steam in your earlier post... not smoke. No harm, no foul.. just a misunderstanding.

What did you end up doing for the dump section? You mentioned you didn't buy the last side exit piece. Did you just weld on a turn down or have any pics? I'm in the same boat thinking the added clearance for the transfer case shouldn't come at the sacrifice of clearance problems behind the rear tire. Thanks!

I don't have a picture but I copied the MBRP dump. As a matter of fact I called them and ordered just that part. It was $98 delivered but I thought worth it. I cut a little off the part that goes in the muffler and it worked great. I liked the hanger that they use. You could have a muffler shop do the same.

 Thank you very much! I find myself making excuses to go drive around just to listen to it sometimes, I know how you feel. Gadget @URD killed it with the Spec-U's exhaust note

David - what are your long term thoughts on the exhaust after owning for 3 months?

Need someone to push me over the edge to purchase... :)

I just ordered the spec u exhaust system and ovtune. Can't wait for it to get here. Black Friday sale $100 off from URD. Still cost a sheit load. Would love to see more video clips and thoughts from David after having this exhaust system for a few months

I have had mine for over 10000 km now. The exhaust, intake and soon to be OVTune will be a wicked combo. It already breathes and accelerates better. My wife drove it for the first time in 5 months and noticed quite a difference.

Does it have a good tone with minimal drone? I like a good sounding exhaust but too old for a super loud exhaust on my DD. Video's I've heard sound pretty good.

Yeah I'm not a kid anymore either. Around 1500 rpm it is awesome, 2500 rpm it has some noise, 3500 and higher is just plain intoxicating. My wife actually really likes the tone which was an utter shocker.

Now Im getting excited. I already have the afe intake. Spec U exhaust should really wake up this truck especially with the tune. That is gonna take a while tho as there are no more kits basically on a pre order wait list with OV tune. Would love to see and hear some better videos posted here of the spec u exhaust system
