I just installed the "revised" version today. Has anyone else had any fitment issues or vibrations? I am having a few. Emailed URD earlier today.

Front supports do not line up, and the resonator is possibly vibrating on the frame. :frusty:

That’s fits like Ass. For $1300 it should fit perfect. Mike better not fit like that. I get it in 3 days.

You’re going to have to mess with the tubing where it connects the Y, vband, and muffler. Yours looks way to close. I would Loosen those connections and try to rotate the vband with a pipe wrench. Mines is close but I made sure there’s enough clearance
Between the resonator and driveshaft for play.

How long ago did you get yours? There is NO WAY the resonator will fit under the frame like yours does with my kit. I would need 2-3 more inches of pipe coming off the down pipes for that to happen.

if I loosen the band claps ahead of the resonator I can probably adjust it vertically slightly. Not horizontal. I’ll try tomorrow.

Will probably get someone with a torch to adjust the front mounts. Sucks I’ll have to pay for that.

Keep in mind mines is modified with a different muffler. As you see, mine sits just below the cross member and doesn’t go in front and past it.

I got mines last year around this time of the year. I’ll try to get more photos tomorrow to show how mines looks.

    this and that...
its gonna fit nicely, but you gotta get it situated just right. when i was putting on my ypipe the fitment was super snug, and it rubbed on the frame. i had to keep everything loose and finagle the ypipe so it wouldnt rest on the frame when torqued down. after a couple tries everything was all good. i had urd ypipes on my other two tacos as well and tbh i dont remember it being any easier or harder than this install was. it did made me wish i had a pneumatic lift to get the truck in the air for an easier time vs on my back trying to muscle that badboy on though lol.

Mine didn’t end up fitting great but far better than your pics. My issue was clearing my skid so I wasn’t able to drop the resonator down very much. I ended up modifying mine to fit better but wasn’t really bad.

I ended up taking a torch to the hangers and bent them to where they needed to be. The resonator seems fine, haven’t heard it hit the frame after some rough driving. Sounds amazing, no drone, zero rasp. I also have the URD down pipes. Stock intake.

Nice gald you got it going. Mine ended up fitting pretty nice as is, but I needed to move everything up a lot to clear my skid and wanted to push it all as high as possible so keep it away from rocks when on the trail.

Sorry for the late response. Hopefully this helps.

As you can see I have more than enough clearance between the frame/driveshaft and the resonator. Also I still used my hangers without bending anything. I just used a different hole as shown in the photo. You just have to twist/tweak it a little with everything loose, then tighten it up when you have it where you want it. A floor jack definitely helps

I hope the resonator clears up the drone issues that all the early purchasers of the Spec-U have to endure.

I cut into the tubing on my Spec-U right after the Y-merge to add the biggest resonator Vibrant makes (similar to the revised setup seen in the photo above), but it still has outrageous, unacceptable levels of drone on the highway. URD told me to pound sand when I inquired if anyone else is reporting drone.

That was obviously a lie, since URD has released this revision with a resonator!

Mine sounds great. And is pretty quiet. I have the newest version and I love it.

Just installed this system I got used from a member on this forum @Tac0Tic0. Had the Y pipe and tail pipe ceramic coated with 2000 deg satin grey ice at performance coatings in Auburn WA. The tail pipe was coated due to the proximity to the 285 spare tire. The hanger contacts. Had the system installed on the dyno at intecracing in Kent.

The following is a thorough and proper review of the system.

Install: No issues. Intec was able to get the system on without a hitch. It took a bit of wiggling to get the Y pipe into place but that’s about it. Granted this is used and so it may have posed an issue for the original owner.

Impressions: A bit louder than my TRD Pro exhaust. Very nice rumble at start up, idle and rev. All aftermarket exhaust systems drone to some degree, even the TRD. The question is whether or not it’s tolerable. This system definitely drones a bit more than the TRD but it’s relatively minor. Sound clips below.

Power: Decent power gain proven as this system was installed with the supercharged truck ON THE DYNO. Increases area under the curve as compared with the TRD. Delta of 14 WTQ at 3800 rpm and again at 4500-5500 rpm. Delta of 10 WHP all the way up the curve. Again, this dyno is in comparison to the TRD Pro exhaust. Of note this is with the magnuson supercharger, stock tune and stock 90mm pulley.

Very pleased with the system overall.

BTW, I have a brand new URD SPEC U system in my garage for sale if anyone is interested send me a PM. Finally showed up after a four month delay due to supply chain issues. During which time i picked up the used system. Opened the box only to make sure everything is included. Asking $1250 picked up for Washington residents. Will consider splitting shipping for everyone else.

You're supercharged and only putting down ~275hp at the wheels? NA I put down ~255 at the wheels with this exhaust

FYI the one you installed is a Gen1 system. You have a Gen2 in the box.

Gen2 they fixed the drone issue by doing a resonated y-pipe. But i haven't heard any sound clips of it.

The Gen1 you have, has a resonator welded in. This is what i'm running as well. It is too much drone for me still, i'm going to add some more silencers in when i get a chance. Yours may not be as bad since you are supercharged.... but i'm sittings in 4th up any incline and it just drones.... i feel bad for anyone in the back seat.

Yeah I noticed the y pipe is different. I can see how the supercharger would change which gear and the amount of load applied at any given rpm. I rarely have to downshift out of 6th on the highway, MT 6 spd. Even up slight inclines.

I have the gen 2 but I used a different muffler with it. Muffler that came with it wasn't quite loud enough for me. It's a beautiful system for sure
