That's what happens when Toyota puts the pinch welds on the wrong side!

The ADM has no effect on disengagement. It is only on the return stroke that the clutch directly follows your foot, where it was damped and delayed with the accumulator.

@subrat has all the things. Including the metal pedal and other metal bits. Kinda jelly. Should do mine one of these days.

The hard way is the best way, and usually creates the best stories.

    ADM is a requirement.

I want to clarify for everyone that it is just a retaining ring for the large washer. It is not a wave washer and does not take up any slack in the large washer. It just sits in the groove and keeps the large washer from falling out of the fingers until installation. The large washer is going to float around inside the fingers like Gadget explained.

I agree there will always be some level of floating around in that adapter ring, but it shouldn't be as loose as it is now.
I thought both bits get installed together. I assumed the smaller washer would sit in with the adapter ring to limit the amount of play.

The large washer will have minimal play when the pressure plate is depressed since the finger tips are closest at this point. When released the finger tips open up and it will have noticeable play. Hopefully the new one works better for you
