Officially felt my heart sink into my chest now that this is a reality. Good work Gadget, you have made a wet dream come true for many 4-Gerbil taco's out there. I'm sure the bigger step for most of us is saving...wait...no...a loan :D

MPG might increase actually if you drive it normally. Now if you drive it enthusiastically well......

Fingers crossed for improvement on the highway... I know it'll at least _drive_ better, I cruise at 2600-2800 rpm in fifth at 75mph... Yeah, fifth was worthless for anything resembling an incline.

Hopefully being able to actually go when I give it gas in fifth will help my mpg though :D

Funny you should mention that. Maryland State Police pulled me over on my way back from the dyno. Apparently I was cruising at 87 MPH in a 55. The truck really drives nicely on the highway and holds speed effortlessly. With my tuning it makes more power even when not in boost.

You are going to love the way the truck drives!!

i think i already know the awnser to this question but, this will void my toyota powertrain warranty right? and in your post i did not see torque figures just hp unless i'm blind in that case i'm sorry for the dumb question.

you had also mentioned that the system is compatible with snorkels this is important because i have one lol i also have a muffler back exhaust on the truck as well i know that forced induction can be a bear to tune correctly sometimes so i figured i would ask. thanks and the kit looks awesome!

Looking back at the dyno graph compared to stock, the urd system is much more sharper and progressive. No drop in power compared to the baseline. Again very nice. It should work with the snorkel since you'll be using the stock air box.

also how much added stress would a system like this put on the engine itself and will it shorten the life of the internals in any way?

Warranties cannot be voided entirely by law. Any problems caused by the supercharger will not be covered; any problems not covered by the supercharger must still be covered as normal. That doesn't mean the dealer won't be a jerk about it, but that's the law.

Cannot wait, that is awesome... I honestly don't think the truck could hit 87 before!

Thanks for all of your answers. But to clarify, an aftermarket CAI wont work and I'll need to put the stock one back in?

Correct. You can use a cone filter with a fabbed pipe if you wanted though.

figured as much lol toyota service has proven them selves as useful as an asshole on my elbow with the only two problems i have with the truck so i can only imagine what they would say if they popped the hood and saw that monster under there lol.

how much torque can we expect out of the unit when tuned properly i don't like to rev my engine to hell lol. i like it down low where it most useful in a truck.

Check the graphs man, the low-end power is helped a lot! (And torque = hp * 5252 / rpm ;) )

And like I said, they can be jerks, but they still have to do it. They may give you trouble, but your warranty is certainly not void. (Unless the blower esplodes your engine or something, then thats your problem. But it won't!)

I had a 96 4Runner V6 and was one of the first people to install a TRD supercharger. On that truck I had serial number 299. On my 97 I had serial number 32.

Anyway, I installed the supercharger at about 35,000 miles and when I sold the truck it had almost 200,000 miles on it. Of course it was fueled by URD and tuned by some guy named Gadget.

I did a compression check on it before I sold it and it was the same as it was before I installed the supercharger.

Hit adds a fair amount of stress on the engine. Anything that is boosted that wasn't originally designed to be takes on an extra amount of stress. This in turn will shorten the life span of your internals, HOWEVER, if your not stomping it everywhere you go then you need not worry too much. When the engine dies, it dies.

What kind of horsepower differences would you expect to see with the smaller pullie and larger blower? also, what other mods would need to be done in order to reliably and efficiently run this setup?
