sorry brother but i do not have a lightweight wallet. it is called financial security. I make more than enough and have more than enough to buy this right now but why spend a large sum of cash when i can finance it and if necessary use my reserves?

Good for you! But if you have to pay any interest, you'd be better off not financing. (Or you better be doing something with the money you're saving by financing that makes you more than the interest, which is very hard to do with interest rates and the stock market the way they are.)

Well done kit. Thank you. Looks like it might be possible to install it in a driveway.

I have to see what Toyota does with the 3rd generation Tacoma before I spend money like that.

    ...too much shit to list.
It can't be CARB approved. It has a user programmable engine managment system. That automatically disqualifies it for CARB (despite the fact that the tune makes the engine run cleaner).

    CA and its ghay laws....

EDIT: I got an idea....see if Gadget can "accidently" misspell URD with a TRD and then just give your smog tech the EO number for the 6 cylinder supercharger and hide the PCM. :D

1st gen - it's got a built engine, a turbo, and waaaaaaay too much to list. 3rd gen - basic-bitch lift, S/C, Pro Wheels
or just buy some TRD emblems off ebay and take off the emblems that are on the charge pipes(if they come on the kit in the first place), and make sure all wiring for the Engine Management is hidden well, and that you have no check engine light codes active(which would disqualify it anyways)

So just to get a rundown, what else is done performance wise to this truck besides the s/c kit? intake/header/exhaust? Also, how many psi is the kit pulling? The one you showed the chart for that is.

This oughta go nice with my 4.88's...

does this kit effect the fuel octane requirement?

any info on how much power the 4-cyl transmissions are rated for?

The truck was completely stock except for slightly larger tires than stock that should reduce the dyno numbers a bit and the cats were removed.

You have to run the highest octane fuel available in your area, no exceptions.

The dyno run I published was with an 80mm pulley and was around 9.5-10 PSI peak boost.

The kits will ship with the 85mm pulley and it was about 20 HP less and about 8 PSI. Once you get the kit installed and verify it is all working well you can then upgrade to the smaller pulley if you want.

Wouldn't you have to re-tune the engine for more boost on a smaller pulley? Sounds like it would just save more time immediately tuning an 80mm pulley.

You don't have to tune these kits AFAIK, because Gadget has already done the tuning for you.

I suspect it's like the v6 - you flash a new tune to Gadget's engine management thinger when you put on the new pulley.

OK I follow. Even still, the whole idea of a "pre programmed" tune doesn't sit well with me. It's just too....generic.

I mean, I don't think anything is stopping you from hand-tuning it or getting it tuned, it's just more expensive and less convenient.

And by that logic, your factory ECU is too... generic. ;)

Had that conversation with him already. They don't sell LCE headers, so how would he tune for them? Equal primary tube length headers (LCE) flow better than non (DT). If he's bundling kits with only DT's what are the LCE people supposed to do?
