The kit is awesome, driveability wise it was a huge improvement.

How does this get along with a stock exhaust manifold, cat and exhaust without doing header and high flow cat. Is a post cat o2 sensor simulator needed then if going with high flow cat? Wonder how the auto 4spd trans would hold up behind this setup.

I don't see why it wouldn't. Obviously it wouldn't make as high of numbers and the tune would need to be adjusted fairly differently

Would this pass emissions in any state other than California? Is it a replacement fuel management setup or does it piggyback off the Toyota ecu?

If you leave the cat in, it should be fine in the other 49 AFAIK. It is a piggyback ECU. (Specifically, a MAP-ECU3)

I want one bad, gotta start saving some cash. Is there a write up anywhere from someone installing one? Really can't find a whole lot on them other than this thread.

Not a whole lot to them, wiring was the biggest pain. The kit comes with excellent instructions.

Did you have to dyno it after the install?
I want one but it would be useless with no dyno here to tune it on if the dyno is necessary.

We did not dyno it, just used the tuning it came with from URD. I believe its a pretty mild tune as compared to what it is capable of.

Yeah, you shouldn't have to dyno tune it, unless you want to take advantage of exhaust or intake mods.

Is that stage 1 or stage 2 with the cats?

    Thanks man.
A guy here (well not here but 1 island away hahah) is selling his urd kit with all the stage 2 stuff. He's asking $3,500. He said it was on the truck for 4k miles. Just sold the truck and the buyer didn't want the kit so he took it out.
I really want to buy it.

Looking into the URD supercharger for my 2.7, had a few questions regarding it. If anyone who has one on their truck would care to answer that'd be awesome!:D Will it noticeably increase my towing ability? I'm tired of driving my family's beat up Chevy 3 hours to the lake if we want to use the boat. I know that the 2.7 will never be a towing monster, but would it be able to handle about 3500-4000lbs after this? Also will I have to start fueling exclusively with premium after the install? Are there any other negatives i should be aware of?

You do have to run premium all the time. It did help me wit towing, but towing a miata on a uhaul auto transport trailer, I had to rev it a lot higher than I would like to hold speed uphill, like 3rd gear at 65mph. That is roughly the weight you're looking at. That was the test I did that made me sell my taco for an f150.

In short, you could do it on back roads or even short stints on the highway, but I would not tow like that all the time with a 4 banger. Honestly, from what I read, the Tacoma is good at towing for what it is, but even the v6s with tow package can get squirrelly with 5k+

I personally consider a 4 banger good to 3000lbs, v6 maybe 5, half ton about 7, and superduty beyond that, as far as what truck I'd consider comfortable for regularly towing what weight.

I'll also say this in light of my Ford having a 9600lb capacity and having towed that much for about 5 miles, and deciding if I ever did that a lot, I'd upgrade. The tow ratings for any given truck always seem to push it for being comfortable on a long distance haul.

Also, legally, a supercharger does not increase the gcwr of your truck, so the law limits you to 3500lbs, technically.
