    It does have more than just the SC. Each Stage adds more crap. Get the mark 3 stage 3, i think they said 400+ hp at that point. But, gotta have engine management for sure. So probably looking at a good 10k once its all said and done...so sometime in the future once the TRD isnt cuttin it anymore

    You already have most of the exhaust components. So you'd pretty much just need the s/c kit and the tuning solution.

    Get the ECU done and you'd you be ready to go for whenever. Just make sure to get the second to largest s/c at the time of the order.

    Meh, if Im gonna swap engines, Id aim for 600+ HP, plus all the hassle along with it. The URD kit is pricey but bolt on, and Im betting with a little page out of Tor's book with some internal engine upgrades Id be pretty damn happy

    Im pretty happy with the way my truck sounds now...a littlw raspy at the higher rpms, but whatever. The key isnt how it sounds, its how it sounds when you're ahead. Fun times having a v8 with a shitty muffler that robs power just to sound cool.

    dont get me wrong.. I love my performance mods.. the truck is quick.. for a truck. I just dont know if I would spend anymore time and money on it.. a lot has been spent already.. truck is maxed out as far as performance goes. although.. having someone make a harness for an EMS.. is tempting.. but starting over, spending ~10k to get back to that and for a little more.. idk..

    enough of that tho.. sorry to thread jack.

    Why LS when you can Ecoboost and get a better power to weight ratio if 600 rwhp is your goal? Lots of guys are getting to 600 HP out of a canned tune and minimal mods on the Ecoboost. Not to mention then you keep GM out from under your hood :p.

    URD is cool, but for me it would be overkill. I can get plenty of power out of the TRD. More than enough for my purposes. Besides, I'm holding out hope that if I want a faster truck Ford may have a mini Raptor based on the Ranger coming out some day.

    You either have a 5 or 6 plug ECU, it's all the same adapter/application.

    That seems like a lot to put down through the stock engine...

    I mean, stock Tacoma's lose 25% of HP to the powertrain in some cases. So at 425 RWHP you are talking about the engine making ~550 HP :eek:. No way the stock internals would hold up to that, unless I'm missing something.

    Meh. At that point I would be looking into upgraded internals and sleeves and stuff to handle that much HP. I've got solid motor mounts and trans mounts en route, so Im hoping to see more power to the wheels with those, but probably wont be installing until Im ready to install all the LT stuff and frame gusseting

    Yeah I'm not going to lie, if I was getting to the point of modifying the internals of the 4.0 L just to gain a bit more speed in the sand, I'd just drop in some other engine and call it a day.

    You forget. 400 whp and 450 wtq, with my turbo kit, on stock internals. All day long. More torque than TRD or URD.

    Now lets make some adapted ecu's already!
