Im on the same boat and have been trying to see if I can get it up by driving differently. Currently min ranges from 17.1 - 18.1 on a manual transmission

 

I wasn't totally serious, then again I didn't totally understand. Oh well.

 

I take it you've never owned a turbo car before eh?

 

Never owned one but have driven several. Does driving a 911 turbo S count?
I got my commercial pilot license 45 years ago and couldn't get an airline job so I went to the Navy Flight School and spent 20 flying in the Navy. I have never owned an aircraft but know how they handle. I think you get the point.

I felt a noticeable difference on my 4.0. Id get this.

@skyking3 did your y-pipe arrive fairly quickly after ordering?

Got my exhaust coming in next week, and was hoping to get this in next week as well, and get everything installed next weekend. If I can I'll try and hold off until the first part of next week, hopefully you'll hear something back... Don't mean to put bad juju on you, but hoping you just got a bad apple, and it's not a design flaw; be curious to see what they say.

I hate waiting...

 

I think it took 5 days to get it delivered but I did not select overnight shipping. Gadget never responded so I will try to contact him again on Monday.

 

well that's disappointing.

I wouldn't mind the power increase and possible MPG, but the main reason for wanting it was to clear my Mobtown skid plates...

When you do your custom exhaust you can still use stainless steel and do a rear cat delete to have similiar results.

 

Pretty sure you have to have a Mandrel bender for stainless steel thick wall pipe, at least that's what I was told when I called a couple exhaust shops yesterday in the Houston area.... Only a few shops have the right equipment, because it's so expensive.

So I called one locally that had a Mandrel Bender and asked how much it would be to route 304 stainless steel thick wall from Y-pipe to muffler, and then from muffler to tip, which I both just purchased online, with Mandrel bends... Yeah they wanted $1,200 and had to leave the truck for 2 - 3 days... I was like what the fuck?!?!

Anyway I'll be going with 3" regular tubing for the exhaust. More or less am doing the Magnaflow Catback, I just bought the muffler and black tip I wanted. Only cost me $200 as opposed to $600 for the Catback set, but I don't get the stainless piping... Oh well, have never had it on any other truck I've owned and have had custom exhaust on each one (Texas = no snow/no salt). Exhaust shop will install with new 3" piping, all welded, for another $200. Was going pair it with the URD Y-pipe with the money I saved, and probably still will, just waiting to see what the outcome of your issue is...

Anyway, that's the extra long story version you didn't need to know, short of it is, yes you can get thick wall stainless done locally and custom, but the price will eat your shit alive.

 

Not to sound like a dick. What is a long drive in Hawaii? 70 Miles? Sometimes I hate living 50 miles from work.

 

I am hoping that Gadget will make it right and will drive up to Maryland if needed. I have a daughter in the DC area to stay with if necessary.

 

40~ if you're crossing island, but traffic here is a nightmare, plus the inclines. I lived in California near Monterey and got similar economy.

When you installed your y pipe did you have any clearance problems? If you look at my pictures from a previous post you can see that one of the pipes is almost on top of the cross member and is causing a lot of rubbing. I emailed Gadget on Friday and he responded today with a possible solution which I will try out tomorrow night.
