What year is your tacoma? Check your 02 sensor and bungs, maybe they’re to tight or loose?. I Have a 2017 and I have never had my check engine light go off.

    this and that...
i had the urd ypipe in my xrunner and you could tell the pick up. i paired it with a 2.75 custom mandrel piping with a super44 muffler. it was a worth it investment to me. i cant wait to install that on this truck as well. right now its just trying to figure out what exhaust system im going with for the ypipe back.

17 here and never had the CEL after installing the URD Y pipe. but i already had OV installed. do you have OV installed? seems the OV tune handles most CEL cases for custom exhaust work. a little hard to tell from out here but it looks that way. curious if this is the same for you.

So I just installed the y pipe. Everything fit up fine. But Gadget has changed the design a little. There is now a clamp right under the tranny oil pan, one right after the o2 sensors on the right side of the vehicle and one large one before it connects to the muffler section. So far no codes, sounds great. But I’ve got some air puffing/leaking coming out where the pipe clamps together. I tightened the shit out of them and they are still puffin air.

Anybody else have this issue? Where the metal slits are on the “receiving” pipe are actually going over each other when I tighten the clamps and that’s where the leaks are coming from. Should I just use some exhaust gasket silicone or what?

2018 and installed Y pipe about 5K after buying the truck last July. Never had CEL (didn't have OVTune for about 6K miles without issues before and after tune). Would double check the O2 sensors & make sure wiring is plugged in securely.

Band clamps are notorious for leaking, even with good fitting pipes. Can try some heat wrap or a longer band clamp for the exhaust leak.

Hello, I need some help with the installation of my URD MK2 YPipe.
I bought mine from @L-SCHLEGS , and he has been very helpful in trying to resolve my issue.
I am also waiting for a reply from Gadget on this.

I thought it would be good to try to get as much opinions and info from others that may have encountered the same issue.

So I basically have zero clearance at the subframe crossmember.
I can barely fit a finger under it, and is basically sitting on the frame.
Was thinking of just getting the unused left bank rubber hanger and sandwiching it in, so that the two metals don't eat at each other as I figure this out.

    DSC_2468.jpg DSC_2466.jpg DSC_2464.jpg DSC_2462.jpg

I have tried the suggested, lift the rear then tighten the front left/right bank bolts, giving minimal results.
The left/right bank flanges appear to be perfectly aligned
Also if I lift the rear anymore then the area near the catback flange would hit the subframe on top.

Only thing I can think of, is to deadblow hammer the entire assembly forward or rotate the yipe assembly by a few degrees.

    Top: Stock
    Mid: Mark 2?
    Bottom: Mark 1?

Cause the one I got is just like the one in the middle.
The one that is also advertised on URD's site is also the one in the middle.
    Screenshot_20191217-234747.jpg

But then the second picture that shows good amount of clearance is the [Bottom: Mark 1?] YPipe.

Stock, Mk1, Mk2. Your picture shows what my Mk1 looked like. I am now on my fourth y pipe which is an equal length JFR custom made y pipe. Don’t get me wrong, the URD does flow better than the stock version but not as well as an equal length version. The URD spec U system is an equal length but mated to a very loud muffler which is not what I was looking for. Hope this helps.

Edit: I also had some rubbing with both of my URD y pipes so I took a road trip to the URD shop in Maryland and had Gadget make the adjustments to eliminate it. You have to loosen all of the bolts and jack up the y pipe and retighten the bolts. The pipe will come back down some but give you some clearance.

Wait, if the middle YPipe is the Mark 1, then why is that the pipe that is being shown on the Mark 2 page?

And that is the pipe that I got. Did we buy a Mark 1, that was advertised as a Mark 2?

did great however not compatible with Mobtown reinforced skid plates so they were taking off and had to get a new reroute

i don't have sound clips, i can't get good ones. i have been refining my exhaust. I'm about to change one resonator and rearrange the layout. i changed the Spintech 3000 to a Spintech 8000 after installing the OV catted dump tubes up front which changed the sound quite a bit. I'm currently removing the 3" midpipe and replacing it with 2.5"with a 2.5" resonator, and replacing the 2nd resonator with 2.25" after reducing the 8000 muffler's inlet from 2.5"to 2.25". sound & performance continue to improve with all this for a totally unrestricted open flow system it's sounding surprisingly good and mellow20201207_173103.jpg 20201207_173045.jpg in those pics i have not yet rearranged the resonators, not that you could tell from the pics.

yes, but this is butt dyno stuff obviously.

the 3"mid brings a larger motor's sound somewhat. the depth and rumble comes from that uniquely on the Tacoma but you don't hear it on the other 2GR-FKS motors since they are using a normal size midpipe. the 3" mid eats your backpressure and therefore torque/throttle response. that will tighten up right away when you start downsizing your mid section. that's also why i went with the large muffler, to bring back some low resonance so it doesn't sound like a Camry as i improve performance. so far I've replaced just one resonator, another 2.25" resonator is on its way to replace the other 3" Vibrant, and I've reduced inlet on my muffler from 2.5 to 2.25. these small changes are noticeable with torque, throttle, and sound for sure. I've been tweaking and tuning my exhaust continually for over 3 years. next step is to remove the 3" mid section just after the Y's merge with the new smaller Vibrant, then there will be no 3" pipe left. this motor is hyper responsive to exhaust work.
