Urgent! Buying a used 2017 PRO

Not really. Used to sell Toyota there's actually no such thing as "ordering" from Toyota. All you can do is an "allocation REQUEST" with absolutely no guarantees it'll be built how you want it.

With Subaru and BMW you can in fact ORDER a car and it'll be built exactly how you spec'd it.

With Toyota they'll take your "order" (actually a "request") and IF there is an unallocated unit that matches your request they'll fulfill it, but even then it may have extra options you didn't want or might be lacking something you did want. Nothing is custom ordered in the Toyota world.

Often times it works out so customers would never know the difference, but Toyota will NOT go out of there way to build a car how you want it if they weren't planning on building it already.

 

I told my salesman to call me once one shows up on his radar....and he did !
It showed up on his computer on. The 16th and he called me the same day to ask if I wanted a new color called cavalry blue ...I was hesitant at the beginning cause it looked like a chick color ...lol
But I showed it to the misses and she said she will drive it if I won’t ..
So here we are ..a 2018 in cavalry blue with my name coming in somewhere in December ...
Hopefully before Christmas ,so I can take it on a vacation ski trip we have planed to Colorado.

FYI...anybody that is a manager at Toyota can see who has what 2018 pros coming in ..
You just have to call around ...but the pricing info is just not showing up yet ...
I was able to get a copy of the window sticker , but no vin # or pricing info...
My salesman told me to hang tight ...and he should be getting that very soon !

 

I didn’t order it ...
Just told my salesman to keep an eye out for me ...wanted the cement color one .
But also wanted the new added safety features .
And he told me no cement pros in 2018.
And on his screen shows a build date of 11/20.
And he says usually a month after that...give and take ...for delivery

I trust my salesman ...bought from him for a long time .
Bought my son a 4Runner TRD Pro last year ...and no markup.
Straight up guy and always delivers on what he tells me ..and then some !

 

I would tell you what dealership it is ...but they are out of their allotments for the pros till the beginning of next year ..
And my daughter wants the next one that coming..

 

Tinfoil is a form of control from the government. I use aluminum cans shaped and welded to cover my head.

With that said, my old roommates gf bought a Jeep and had the dealer install an aftermarket sunroof. She had to return multiple times to the dealership for issues (leaking, rattles and the controls not working) she ended up trading it in because of the issues.

 

Any sunroof can be a problem.

I’m sure there is a lot more stories about friends friend had a problem, too. It’s a lot less of an issue than presented here.

No moon roof on the American TRD PRO. The Canadian on has moon roof.

 

Canadian pros don't get the sunroof either

I see that you are in Arizona , so it’s not too far a drive ..
I use to live in Arizona in San tan valley ...
Just couldn’t tolerate the miserable heat ..
And moved to California.

 

No worries. It's not like any of Toyota's package groupings and choices make any sense at all...

Totally incorrect. The 2018 Pros will NOT have JBL or Moonroof, just like the 2017. Look at the other threads on 2018s....the spec sheets from dealers are available, and list all the options. The only differences with 2018 Pros are TSS-P (All Tacomas)....and color changes (Cement discontinued for Pro, etc).
