Urgent help required.... spark plug question

    Just followed Chris steps to the tee. now when the truck starts up it is not making a good sound. I am afraid to start it up again. the only thing I noticed is I forgut to reconnect the surge tank hose could this be the problem?????

    All plugs came out no problem. All plugs had anti sieze put on and hand torqued to the end. The torqued to 15ft/lb (180in/lb). All in all it was a easy job. Cant see what could have went wrong.

    All spark plugs gapped to 0.41.

    Hard to describe. It continued to run. I stopped it myself. What do you think should I connect the surge tank and start her up again or should I re-check everything buy going back to the beginning.

    Just a few little things. It's my DD
    Re check everything. Not pulling plugs yet just make sure all the coil packs are pushed on the plugs good and you didn't knock or leave any wire connection unhooked.

    Just plugged the surge tank hose and now everything sound normal again. Wholly shit my blood pressure is through the roof.

    What the hell does that surge tank do anyways. It was basically wistling with the hose out.

    I was just thinking to myself. Wow would my pap every be proud to see me turning into a little bit of a mechanic and then that happens.

    I do believe if helps keep pressure in the fuel system at a constant so that when there is a momentary lapse in fuel because of air or something like that the fuel is still given to the rail.

    But that is just from preliminary investigative work.

    One last question. Everything seems to be running great but I did use Champion Platinum plugs that were on sale for half price (2 for 10). Now I feel like I should have stuck with stock. Should I just leave em or swap em out.

    I have the same exact plugs in mine. They've been in for over a year, mabye closer to two. I've had no problems, but the OCD side of me wants to take them out and put in factory Denso plugs instead. I'll just leave 'em.

    Haha yea leave'em, if you had blood pressure spikes with changing the first time maybe you should just wait a while until you put the OEM ones back in, give your heart a break :)
