Check your fluid level when the case is cold, before you drive tomorrow. The fluid expands when it’s hot. I have had a similar issue and thought that oil was being pushed from the trans to the tcase. It wasn’t, it just expands that much. Not sure of the extent of your leak, but it doesn’t take very much oil to make a huge mess. Also, if the oil is coming from between the trans and tcase, it’s likely the output seal on the trans. If you want to drain the oil from the space between the two, remove one of the bolts from the trans support. That bolt goes through to the void and will drain most of the oil. Check your trans level too in the morning and see where you’re at. I feel your pain. I moved coast to coast twice with mine puking oil and having to get underneath the vehicle a couple times a day to check things out. The smell of 90 weight is disgusting.

Mines a gas pig as well. I would love to get 300 miles between fills, even before all the crap I've done to mine it never got 300.

I had a few all highway tanks that broke 300 miles back when my truck was stock except for the supercharger (was installed by the PO). But 4 years later...all the armor, 33s, roof rack, RTT, etc... I'm happy to get over 200 lol.

Manual FTW you gotta coast up to lights. Get those extra miles.

So heres the story. I was on the way to homedepot. I seen a peterbuild on the way. They were open. I stopped and asked if they had a torch to heat this up. The dude looked at it. He decided to try the samething I did and pound a socket on it. Since he had a 6 point and i used a 12 i thought what the hell. He tired to heat it before pounding it on.

    2CC95960-D3A3-48CB-A894-AA994CB543A0.jpg

It didnt end up working. I kept asking for visegrips for some reason he didnt want to do it. So we moved on to removing the upper fill bolt that i point out eariler. He got it with a slim ratchet and shallow socket. It was coated in oil so im sure you can fill from there but that screws me since i need to check it every so often.

I asked if he could get the vise grips so i could try myself since for he didnt want to. He let me and he went back in, said the boss was mad or something. He said I could use the tools and return them after.

I put those vise grips on super duper tight. Hit it for about a min with the torch the shocked/pounded it with hammer fist type motion. 3 pounds and she broke free. Felt good. You would of thought the peterbuilt dude would of done it.

I went to remove the bolt to check the level expecting it to truckle out if it was full. It was a fucking firehose. The shit went everywhere while i tried to cap it as fast as possible. Went to get a drain pain and a gallon came out even after the spill before it slowly started to come out.

Prob could of just went to homedepot and done the samething, but I gave the kid $60 for letting me use his tools and asked if they could take all the oil since i cant store almost a full drain pan wroth.

The fuild in the t case was still golden so I left it for now. The trans oil was super dirty so I could tell its the trans thats leaking.

Could of took more pics and stuff but i was over it. Only slept 3 hours in 30 degress then drove my ass off and stopped at least 4 times to fix shit.

300 miles is really good for a tank. When my 98 was driving in the ideal conditions for mpg I was getting 300-330 per tank.

I usually get 300 before the light so i could go another 30 and prob be safe.

Ive done a lot of work to try and get the most out of it. Still on stock size tires, actaully these general atx killed the milage. With the old tires i could prob get 350. One time ill try and see what the most I can strech out of it. Ive done 330ish mixed driving a couple times and when i filled the take it took about 16gal and I think the tank is 18gal

beware that once that tank only has about 1/2 gallon in it the rig will start acting funky on turns (slosh effect) with jerking and sucking fumes with a stutter
tank is roughly 18.5 gallons and i filled it 17.75 many times to see how far it could get after the light comes on

best price on gas before you hit Iowa is $1.74 at the BP on i-680 and Irvington rd exit on the north side, my rig needs filled up today so that is the place i am hitting... or be careful on the rough roads on I-80 through the city that they refuse to fix for years now
there is a huge potthole around milemarker 440ish in the center lanes that i hit that buggar yesterday at 70mph it came out of nowhere

Anyone know if its possible to get to the vent on the front diff?? I think it might be plugged and elevation changes are forcing oil out.
