Hey guys, I made 2 days ago and been working on this thing 10 hours a day since. Swapping seats, drive line support bearing, took bed off and cleaned up the rust, etc. Now Im getting to the leaks.

I have question regarding the leak between the trans and the transfer case. From what Ive been told by toyota, there is no gasket between the trans and t case and that the leak is coming from the seal. Im trying to buy the seal to replace it, would this be the right seal?

You have positively pinpointed the leak?

Is it visibly leaking gear oil or are you getting gear oil and trans fluid mixing in the t-case?

I have a leak currently but it's its way up high near the floorpan
It dribbles down after 20k miles to the tran mount

If it's a leak and not fluid mixing then you don't need the trans output seal replaced. Have you pulled the center console and gotten a look at the shifter base? It could be leaking from that. A leak up high is really unusual. I'd suspect it's either coming out the breather or the shifter base. I'd look closely at both before I pulled the t-case to reseal it with RTV.

There is a gasket on both sides of floorpan at the shifter base?

I don't remember a gasket on the shifter base when I pulled mine. I'm pretty sure it was just Toyota FFIP(RTV).

Is there one of those on both sides of the floorpan?

The shifter base is at the top of the t-case.

As I was on the road trip the trans oil keep running down, so I know the oil is coming from the trans so Im guessing is the seal leaking into the dead space between the t case and trans. Toyota said there is no gasket for the dead space, its just RTV.

Correct for the trans tail housing to t-case seal. If your leaking trans fluid into the tail housing the trans output seal is bad.

    Still confused!
They told me the new leak is under the floorpan way up there
Will be easy fix once the clutch gets replaced :notsure: and everything removed

I don't. I replaced mine with the adapter that came with my dual cases. When in doubt I always just call my local dealer and give them the VIN. I bet it's a 20 dollar seal so getting it online won't save that much cash.

There is a no seal between the floorpan and the transmission or t case, just a rubber boot. It could be leaking from the shifter base, there is a seal or RTV between the shifter base and trans and t case.

its just a 'slow' leak right (drizzles & accumulates on the mount) now that after 25~30k miles on new fluids the last time transmission seemed low on fluid and hard to shift into 3rd at the time running hot off the freeway slowing down to adjust speed
