Old School, there is no use fighting it off.... let it go.

You've made a mess of the OP's nice thread because you didn't fully think it through. My advice is don't draw more attention to yourself here.

Tacoma's and Hilux's were not uncommon to see when I was in Afghanistan in 2010. I know the Hilux's were widely used at Bagram for driving around base. Saw several Tacoma's roll out of the gate also.

    Old school,

"It bothers me that some feel the need to start bagging on the Tacoma, and vent their problems with the truck, sorry if it didn't strike me as funny!"

Really, Honestly who gives a fuck if they talk crap about a tacoma. Im sure that the person(s) who are talking crap own one. Your acting like the tacoma is an extension of the military service and its not. ITS JUST A TRUCK. I've seen many different hilux's, F-150's, ram's etc down range in different locations.

Honestly If you do serve, your starting to be a tad embarrassing. Stop crying about a damn truck and move on. I'm not going to flood a thread and talk shit because someone talked shit about my ACFT. GROW UP.

Sorry OP that this gentleman had to ruin this thread. Great Story!:oldglory:

    the best part is
"Because humvees are for noobs"

and sweet story of some true american heroes, also the whole article was written in a comical context therefore I found it completely appropriate to joke about the truck we all drive everyday.

    Some really cool shit
I was there in 2013. Got picked up at the airfield in Kabul in a Land Cruiser. It was so loaded down with armor and comms gear the shocks and springs were on the stops. Felt every bump, hole, and rock. Those things were beat to shit. All Spec Ops vehicles.

It's nice that they wrote a letter thanking Toyota for the well-built truck, but it seems to me that Toyota's well-built trucks are doing more for the other team over there, no? If Toyota's broke down after 10 hard years the enemy'd be walking everywhere.

Keep stirring the pot and I will continue to respond, say what you want, you totally miss my point!

^this one in particular, states "I don't want my truck" in his sig, if you don't like your truck sell it and move on, quit with the thread crapping at every opportunity...

These were the posts that I felt detracted from a otherwise awesome original post!
The rest of it comes from the resulting shit talking!

As suggested in previous posts "let it go", unless the purpose behind your post is to stir up the BS again!

Yeah those things were beat all to crap. I remember one night moving from Bagram to our FOB and one of the gunners in the rear MRAP radioed that there were some vehicles moving up on us. Next thing we hear on the radio is to stand down and let them pass. I noticed about 3 or 4 vehicles passing us.....couple of them were Land Cruisers, one was a Hilux or Tacoma (couldn't really tell), and I couldn't make out the last one. Those things were moving fast with no headlights and just in a matter of seconds....they were gone. There is no question that Toyota makes the toughest vehicles in the world. Majority of the roads in Afghanistan were all dirt, full of holes, and extremely rough. Heck, even the corolla's over there could take the beaten the roads gave.

I know the ANA over there drove 4 door Rangers which was the first time I ever saw them. I also found it interesting to see Mercedes jingle trucks
