Cool. Is that a direct bolt-up R&R job, or are other mods needed?

Removes a potential failure point between your hand and the transfer case.

What is their job and how do you do it manually? And I also wanted to know the benefit of the fj transfer case over the oem one

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I wouldn't necessarily call the 4.0 power output low. My 3.4 puts out close to 40 less horsepower than a 4.0 and it moves the truck down the road quickly when I get on it. The one 4.0 I drove was very quick and responsive to hard acceleration, not sport car fast, but V6 Tacomas carry themselves around with power to spare.

I read an article that the mission was intended to capture him and they had to go to Plan B after meeting stronger resistance than was anticipated which resulted in the death of the primary target

Yeah the report also said the target was hiding behind women and children!
And none of the human shields were hit!
    Good job Delta Force!

Not sure if you are serious? Electric actuators are...well, electrical components, and prone to failure. Manual is nearly bulletproof.

I'd say that this is on topic to some extent. Any of you hear of the Long Range Desert Group? It was a WWII British Army unit that specialized in deep desert actions. They used highly modified vehicles mostly Chevrolet or Ford trucks and Jeeps. Pretty much set up for long range recon and for rapid raids against Afrikacorps.

The reason I did this swap on my truck was because I was at King of the hammers when my actuator failed. I had 4wd but no low in the T case. Fortunately I had a crawler box and had a 4.7:1 low so I was good for the day. Got the truck back to the shop and found the problem was a bit more than just the actuator. When the actuator goes, it can jam the shift rods. Once those are jammed your looking at a new case.

After going to Australia with Marlin I realized that the FJ Cruiser case would bolt up to the transmission in my truck. We had one laying around and i bolted it in, put the shifter through the floor and haven't looked back since.

This is a far better setup and one that Toyota should have done in the first place. They have this in the new 4Runners, the Hilux overseas and the Fj Cruiser. Why not in the most popular truck they have ever sold in the US.

To do this swap on an IFS truck, you'll need to put in a switch to activate your ADD and if you have a locker you'll need to do the locker mod.

The reason I did this mod for the Military training vehicles is because for the most part they use the Toyota Hilux in theater and it has a Manual T case. We can't get theHilux here for them to train in so the next best thing is the Tacoma. I put the FJ Case in the Tacoma's they train with and bring the J shift pattern shifter up where it would be in the Hilux they would use and it becomes a seamless transition from training here in the states and driving in combat with bullets flying all around.
