USA Spec Adaptor-Noise?

I just installed the USA Spec PA15-Toy Ipod controller in my 07 single disc radio. After hooking up the Ipod Touch, I noticed a high pitch noise through the speakers-a constant high pitch (barley audible). It's there even with the radio volume all the way down, but goes away when the Ipod is disconnected. It's not noticble when the truck is running or when the radio is turned up a little. The USA Spec controller is mounted under the center console near the shifter while the Ipod cable is run through the bottom of the center console. Any ideas why I'm getting this high pitched hum? Switches 2,3,& 4 are on.

 

Does that unit have a ground wire that you had to attach somewhere?

 

No ground wire and the manual makes no mention of grounding required.

 

That's a shame. Probably is indeed the unit then.

 

I checked some additional songs and seems it may have only been one album. I played a few more songs and couldn't get it to repeat the hum.

 

A bad MP3 rip. That's been known to happen. What were your settings for that encoding?
