I've seen this topic covered before but none of the solutions seemed to work for me. I have a 2020 Taco with the JBL system and the usb plug is intended to allow Apple Carplay to function.

I have since removed the entire system (big upgrade) and wish to "adapt" this plug to the standard type A input on the aftermarket head unit. I have tried two adapters that would not work and just tried a five pin plug in the top half of the factory plug with no luck. There must be some type of plug that will fit the bottom half. You can see from the pic that it would not be another pin connection.

    Any ideas? Thanks!

I would do something like this if I can find one small enough to fit the factory opening. This “switch” is smaller than the rest in the panel.
