Hey guys, I'm looking to replace the factory USB-A port with a USB-C port in the center console. I've searched around online and there doesn't seem to be one that fits. All I want to do is remove the USB-A port and replace it with a USB-C, while using the same power cable that plugs into the back of the port. Anyone seen anything like that?

I don't know what the one in the console looks like.
You might be able to replace it with one from a Camry or something.

Kind of need to know how it "fits" in the console.

The plug/connector shouldn't be hard figure out.
I may be able to help with diagrams/connector views.

But it the actual "port" size that will likely be the issue.

You won't find one, unfortunately. (He says with a confidence begging to be proven wrong). The best you can do is use a USB-A/USB-C cable for your more modern device and deal with the "slow charge". (I am making the assumption that you want to charge your phone or whatever faster). I have recently been down this rabbithole.

Part of the problem is that the factory wiring is not designed to handle the additional power requirements for the neweer charging specifications. Part of it is that the really modern charging standards use a sophisticated (i.e. way more expensive) physical connector, so retrofit options that are plug-and-play are few and far between, especially for trucks as "old" as a 2nd gen is these days.

Edit: FWIW I have had excellent luck with an Anker 12V socket USB plug that does QC3 and PD (covers most models of phones). One or both of your "cigarette lighter plugs" is a power port, good for 15A on the factory wiring and designed to hold up to that kind of use.

I installed one of these in my '09:

    Connections are +12V, Ground, USB-C, and USB-A.

I put the USB-A in the center console storage, and the USB-C comes out where the bezel of the shifter is. My phone sits in the change pocket, and the USB-C plugs right in. With this setup, and my Android Auto head unit, I have tunes and maps that allow me to drive 600 miles a day.

The original USB-A connection in my 2015 DC isn't a power point. It connects only to the AV system.

But what I think you're asking for isn't hard, @9volt.

I added a USB-C PD and USB-A connector to my center console, using one of the many eBay versions that fits in place of one of lower console blanking panels. I chose one including a digital voltmeter. I took power from the 12V outlet circuits just next to it. Works fine. It's useful to have PD charging rates.

(Photo just taken in the dark, so apologies for the quality. The red/amber LEDs aren't that bright, although the smoked front panel on the switch does blur the LEDs a bit. I'll add photos in the daylight tomorrow.)
