I have the 2016 SPORT TRD, DCAB, 6SPD, Premium Audio w/ NAV.... it's works OK.... not the best with Samsung S5 phone. I can only connect the phone through Bluetooth. USB does not connect the phone to the system without Bluetooth activated in the phone. if Bluetooth is not activated there is no connection at all, the phone is not recognized by the system. However it does charge. I'm not sure if there is an issue with the phone or the HU. In my wife's subaru with the same phone I can do mirror link, thru USB with no issues & the Bluetooth works great as well..... anyone experience this?

I have an upcoming service on this issue w/ Toyota they said it should work thru USB lets see what happens.

Toyota flops again..... they can not understand why the USB does not recognize the Samsung S5 phone. The Head unit is made by Panasonic but there is no software upgrade at this time. So they are blaming the phone or cable (never the vehicle). They did say there is a history of issues associated with Samsung products and their vehicles but there is nothing they can do at this time to correct the situation.

If this applies to you, here's some info:

    I am using two iPhones.

I stream downloaded-from-Spotify music over bluetooth to my Tacoma's factory "Premium Sound" setup from an old no-SIM iPhone 7.
The truck recognizes the music as "BLUETOOTH."
The sound quality is simply amazing !

But, if I do this, I have to turn off the bluetooth on my working iPhone and unplug it fom the USB connector on the dash or run into all of this issues cited above.

    I'm happy with the tradeoff.

If I receive a call, my working phone (not the no-SIM, Spotify-loaded phone) rings, and I simply answer it from the phone itself.

I'm good with that, given the sensational quality of the music played from no-SIM phone through the truck's bluetooth.

Finally, if I'm worried about charging either phone, I can lay either one on the charging pad in the center-of-dash cubby and turn on the truck's built-in charger.

    Hope this helps.
